We concur with all of the other highly rated comments. We selected the hotel because it accepted dogs and had a grass area adjacent to the hotel. We took advantage of the $179 rate per night (although with taxes, $50 dog fee, valet charges and food- the dollars add up quickly) Of our 18 days on the road, without question, the RiverPlace was our favorite. We were able to have our dog on the gorgeous veranda and be served dinner at the same time! We were not able to leave the dog in the room unattended so our options for food were limited. The room was quiet (we had an inside room) and so luxurious. Parking is so difficult in Portland and it's worth paying the $28 per day for in and out valet (although we got lucky and found free parking on the street one night). The front desk was so helpful and everyone was so friendly. We were tempted to stay at thte Hotel Monaco or the Westin which both accept dogs until we learned there is no grass nearby any of the downtown hotels for dogs. The RiverPlace Hotel is in a perfect location--it's just beautiful to walk along the river front. You won't be disappointed with your stay at this hotel.

We loved staying at the RiverPlace Hotel. Everything came together perfectly. The staff was wonderful, the accommodations luxurious, and the view magnificent. We will stay there on our next trip to Portland for sure!

The Larkspur Riverplace was everything it was said to be, and more: we loved the Waterfront area. Just outside the door, and the hotel's outdoor cafe tables, was the river walk, teeming with runners, bicyclers, walkers, and especially those carrying oars. The weekend we were there happened to be the Dragon Boat Races on the Willamette - crew after crew in race after race launching these boats and paddling frantically up the river. We watched parts of it from a breakfast cafe down the river a little ways, with Mount Hood as a backdrop. As for the hotel, the rooms offered top comfort. The bed felt so good it was hard to get up! A spacious, separate bathroom, complimentary wireless and a good work table added to the experience. The hotel was quite crowded when we were there, due mostly to wedding events, but we were still able to enjoy a drink in the bar area and talk with other patrons there, although we had to wait some time before getting one of the outside tables! We didn't eat any meals in the hotel; it looked good, but we chose to venture into the rest of downtown Portland, which we accessed easily on foot, and via the free public transportation when we wanted to give our feet a break. We didn't rent a car until the day we left Portland for the Oregon coast; we then drove back to the hotel to load our luggage, and the valet was very helpful in directing us through the valley down to our destination. The front desk (doubling as conciege) was also helpful in directing us around town for our two days there. A fitness facility is included, but it's offsite; we didn't check it out although the whole Waterfront area is a nice community which we liked walking through, and stopped in several places.

The Riverplace Hotel was a special bonus for us, since we booked via Hotwire. I expected to end up in a national chain hotel such as Marriott or Embassy, but it was a real treat to end up in more of a boutique situation. Yes, the fruit-infused water in the lobby was an added plus, but the lobby is great anyway, including a small library with some informative materials. If we go to Portland again, we will not want to stay in any other hotel than the Riverplace.

Highly professional and friendly staff in all parts of operation. Work together exceptionally well, know facilities, Portland and area very well. Rooms very comfortable and inviting - absolutely no issues with furnishings or cleanliness. This group took all hassles out of urban vacation stay.

My best friend and I selected this hotel based on the tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed! The valet was friendly and quick. Check in was a breeze and the concierge was nice. We stayed on the second floor with two full beds so our view was of the front entrance not the river, but it was pretty quiet. The room was spacious with a desk, big lounge chair. But the beds! OMG, they were amazing. I have a tempurpedic mattress at home and the bed rivaled it! The tv had a nice assortment of channel and was a flatscreen. the turndown service was lovely. The bathroom was roomy. The shower was great water pressure and the shower head detached. The lobby had fruit infused water and fresh fruit as well as the occasional fresh baked cookies. There's also a dvd rental at the front desk with a good selection of movies. The bar and restaurant were awesome. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was tasty. I had the poutine appetizer and the chicken entree. Both were delicious. I finished with a rhubarb crumb dessert. The hotel is on the river and has a nice walkway with shops beside the river. Very cute. Check out went smoothly. Everyone was super nice and helpful and made my stay in Portland awesome. ]
