Very well located, the Heathman was a terrific place for my first ever visit to Portland.
The young staff were pleasantvand went out of the way to be helpful.
There was a made for tv event taking place during my stay but they made sure hotel guests were well taken care of.

For our first trip to Portland, we chose the lovely historic Heathman for it's convenient location and high praise for their restaurant. We are not disappointed! We enjoyed possibly the best breakfast scones ever, as well as rich tasty coffee, and hot dished eggs, porridge. Our room on the 4th floor was the basic, but it looked through green leafy trees and faced an interesting reflective office building across the street. Double-windowed, it was quiet and comfortable, though small -- 'big' city sized, it was not cramped even for two. The bathroom was quite small, but fine for us. All the front desk staff are also concierge ready, and offered tips and walking directions to nice restaurants close by. We will definitely return, as we were very impressed by how nice the Portland folks were to us, as tourists. A sophisticated, food town with a small town friendliness.

Room Tip: Apparently the rooms on high floors are quieter. We could hear a phone conversation, from an adjoining room, but were assured that if it was an issue, we would be moved.

Our first time having a meeting at this hotel, the meeting space was very nice, the food was good and the service was excellent. Its a small property but it was perfect for my small group, the elevators from the sleeping rooms to the meeting space was convenient, the location downtown was great and very easy and quick to walk to nearby restaurants or shopping. Less than 30 minutes from the Portland airport.

Room Tip: From what I heard from my group the corner rooms are smaller than other rooms, some rooms are more updated than others. Dog friendly hotel as well which is a plus in my book.

We booked this hotel for two nights based on travel guide and TA reviews. We knew what to expect and were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly and professionally by the costumed doorman to the concierge and reception staff. The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Portland. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms (especially the bathroom) were small, but the design, which facilitated the inclusion of everything you would like in an upscale hotel room, was impressive. We enjoyed two delicious breakfasts in the hotel restaurant.
