We found this hotel via the internet as being the closest to Crater Lake. I'm not sure whether it is actually correct, but being app. 45 minutes from the South entrance it is pretty close.
The inn is "rustic" in the way you find it at bed and breakfasts located "off the beaten track", which Prospect definetely is. The welcome at the reception at checkin was very warm, and introduced us to the local attractions in the form of 2 falls as well as an extremely scenic route north around Crater Lake to get back to the freeway.
Service at the restaurant was warm too, but the food was a bit pricy and average. Further, it is a bit strange to see a "no sharing, please" in the menu!
The room (a family suite at the motel section with a separate bedroom) was a bit small for 5 people, and the A/C needed a makeover. A bit below average for the price, but OK and clean.
