We met at "The View" for lunch and had an enjoyable lunch. We then played an enjoyable round of golf. Very nice (tough but fair) golf course.

Juniper is probably one of the premier courses in central Oregon, and a much better value than just about any course in Bend. The greens and fairways are very well kept, and the course offers many natural hazards rather than the standard traps and ponds. Wildlife in the form of yellow-bellied marmots and deer is frequent on the course, which is always nice. The prices are a little steep, but much better than the Bend course rates. But most of all, this is a fun, challenging, pleasant course. Bring extra balls.

Our plan was to play three different courses. Juniper was so impressive, and first on the itinerary, that we played there all three times instead. The course was immaculate and some views are spectacular.

We live in Central Oregon part-time for two years now. Encouraged to try Juniper, we arranged a time by phone and the service was excellent from the pro shop guy. Advised right then of difficulties we'd encounter using our gps (turns out it would've sent us in the opposited direction) or otherwise finding the club, I was urged to call again from nearby and he would "guide" us to the entrance. He was also very helpful with course information and descriptions, assisting us to the cart, and provided a free guidebook of the course. Great job pairing us up with fun people that have become friends now.

First time playing a couple blind holes was just a bit awkward yet the course is very fair. At the turn we wasted no time making early arrangements for each of the next two days. Times we wanted weren't readily available yet the same guy told us, "I'll make it happen for you." And he did exactly that and our arrangements went off without a hitch even though he, and the course, appeared so terribly busy. Impressed that one person was handling so much alone and efficiently.

Only difficulties we encountered was finding service for the turn. Shopped the pro shop just once. Clothing was nice yet overpriced. Purchased a shirt and cap reluctantly. Noticed so much of the golf clubs were aged, spendy, and used too. Had a question but the gal at the counter seemed busy on her cell phone and then occupied with watching TV and grazing from a plate.

Traveled with a group of six golfers for a July week to Central OR to play 9 rounds in 6 days. Juniper was the third golf course we played on our itinerary. The first putt on the practice green sent an immediate message - bring your A putting game. A course marshal would later say their immaculate bent greens were rolling 12-13 Stimpmeter. With smallish juniper trees and lava rocks sprinkled along the boundaries of each hole, some of the holes reminded me of holes at Bandon Dunes. The course is as fair a test of golf as the greens are perfect. Hit an errant shot or putt, expect to pay for it - the course rewards good shots and does not help bad ones. Very friendly staff and pace of play <4.5 hours on weekends. When our group fell behind, the marshal politely sped up our pace of play w/o being confrontational.
I have to reiterate that for the price this golf course charges, 69 to walk on weekend plus 16 cart fee, it is the best value I've had in my golf travels. The course is immaculate, interesting, and the greens are as pure as you'll find on a public course (and most private ones, too.) The ultimate testimonial for Juniper GC - it's the only course we played twice on this trip.

Juniper Golf Course was relocated a few years back. The old course was pretty and each hole was unique. The new course is beautiful as well although it's very "linksy" and nearly all the holes on the front nine look the same.

The greens and fairways were exceptional. The course condition could be compared to Bandon Trails on the Oregon coast.

The big problem we had with Juniper Golf Course was the customer service, there wasn't any. The pro behind the counter acted like anything but a pro. I dislike when I am made to feel as if I am an inconvenience or the business is doing me a favor.

The course...a 9 1/2, the business...ZERO. If that is unimportant to the visiting golfer, you'll most likely enjoy your game.
