After fleeing from Kah-nee-tah "resort" we needed something more to our liking. Eagle Crest did not disappoint. The lodge rooms were clean - the King Suite was worth it for our group of 5. Room to spread out - have a mini-kitchen-bar area - and a separate room for adults to sleep in...ahh.
Horseback riding with Justine a dream. Pools wonderful. Property clean and easy on the eyes...

Room Tip: King Suite worth a few extra dollars.

Thanks for the trip advisor review. It was nice to learn that your experience at Eagle Crest was enjoyable and that the king suite accommodations worked well for your family. Glad that your horseback ride provided a unique experience to Eagle Crest. Hope you were able to visit our Sports Centers as well as take advantage of our 18 hole natural grass putting course. We look forward to your next visit to Eagle Crest.

This is a giant development with a "basic" hotel on a large sprawling piece of land and then called a resort. The grounds are pretty enough and if you have small kids and just want to ride your bike on asphalt paths and go to a pool maybe you will be happy here. We stayed in a king suite and were supposed to have a double queen connecting for our kids. We re confirmed several times. At check in we were told they only had king ready but we could come back after 5 for the connecting kids room. We got back at 5:30 and they said they didn't have connecting room so kids were half way down a long hall. Ok, not a big deal, but still notable. service at all times was unpolished: our registration took far longer than it should have. No apologies no "is this ok." No explanation of what was available on site - not even for food. We had booked horseback rides - no offer to show us where this was on map and it is both FAR away (don't think you're going to walk there) and hard to find! ( no signs "equestrian center.") it's off in the middle of a giant labyrinth of housing development across the highway and up a hill.

Rooms: king suite was reasonable size but no desk/ writing space and pillows on sofa did not look clean. I'm not a germ phoebe but I used a towel to sit there. Fridge didn't keep things cold, only dishes/utensils for 2... I could go on. Bathroom terribly designed. Two doors to enter but they hit each other. Shower the worst design- half open glass, shower head spray is so broad that water goes everywhere but where you want it - floor of course gets wet. Shower head so high that anyone under 5'6" can't reach it. When we arrived shower head was aimed at wall - least amount of water escaping but a miserable way to take a shower. Bath amenities of budget variety. Bed comfortable enough but we have gotten used to far better quality of linens even at mid-level hotel. At these prices the quality should have been better. We were at end of hall #227 which is pretty quiet so this was one good thing since walls are thin and voices carried. Another plus we had a balcony - though handle was broken on screen door and unless very careful it would be easy to get cut. Queen room was basic room. Notable: 1st night our son could not get into his room and at 11:30 pm had to have front desk help him enter room because electric lock stopped working - this took some time. Hmmm Again no follow up by management. Doors had to be rather forcefully closed to lock.

Yes, central Oregon is beautiful and we highly recommend Bend and surrounding nature areas. We were hostage to an event being held here so 3 nights of disappointment, so unless you two have no choice, our advice is to go elsewhere, especially at these prices.

Room Tip: Imagine there's a price difference, but parking lot views should be avoided if possible so ask to...

Thank you for staying at Eagle Crest Resort. I was concerned to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you encountered some service deficiencies. I apologize that your check in took longer than you anticipated and that you apparently did not get all the resort information you needed. I will be sure to review this with our staff in an effort to improve in this area. Also, I regret we were unable to assign you connecting guestrooms. While we make every effort to honor guest requests there are times where some requests are beyond our control, we should have done a better job in explaining this to you. Also, you are correct in that Eagle Crest is an extremely large resort with three golf courses, family friendly putting course, three sports centers, extensive hiking and biking trails both asphalt paved as well as natural terrain, sports fields and indoor/outdoor tennis. We regret that you apparently were not able to take advantage of these activities and enjoy much of what Eagle Crest has to offer. Thank you for the feedback on your guest room experience. Glad to know the accommodations were quiet and that you enjoyed the balcony. I will be sure to have the maintenance issues you noted repaired immediately. We hope that despite your most recent experience you will give us another opportunity to accommodate you in the future.

Sincerely,
Geoff Roemelt

A 2 night stay while in town for business. The setting is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable - carpets and decorations new. The building exterior shows a bit of age, but all I really cared about was a quiet night of sleep which I had both nights.

We were pleased to learn that you found your guestroom clean and comfortable and noticed our recent upgrades. I've stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns over the years, so I figured I'd be getting the same type of service I was use to and be staying in the same level of hotel I was use to. Wrong!
We stayed in a king sweet. They've rigged the air to "try" and flow to the front room which doesn't work. The water pressure in the shower was non- existent.
We had breakfast in their eating area and the servers were so rude! Both my son and I had ordered bacon and had to request it again, only to have only one order brought. The servers acted like we were bothering them.
For the $250 a night we paid, I would look for another place to stay.

We just returned from a mini-vacation at Eagle Crest in Redmond, Oregon. It's a 20 minute ride to downtown Bend. I can't say enough good things about the resort. There's so much to do on the property, that you don't even have to explore the area, BUT you will because central Oregon has lots of exciting outdoor activities to offer. However, I will restrain myself and just write about the resort.
Eagle Crest has acres of high-desert fun. Three 18-hole golf courses, plus an 18-hole putting course. Well maintained trails for walking, hiking, and biking. We did all three. Three sports centers with pools, hot tubs, racquet ball, tennis, fitness rooms and exercise classes. A 'town square' with shopping and dining. The best part is that all of the out-door areas are dog-friendly.
Now to the room. The positives first. It was dog-friendly as long as you kept your pet in a crate while you were not there. You could even walk with your dog in the lobby. There was a washer and dryer on our floor. You could set your own wall-mounted thermostat in your room. The cafe had to-go items, drinks/ food, and their prices for breakfast were reasonable. The negatives next. We had a queen room that was on the small size. Once the crate was set up there was only a narrow path around the bed. The window would not open. Our window was level with the gravel/grass outside. We had a view of the parking lot. The bed squeaked. The mini-fridge was not very cold, even on the highest setting. The fiberglass bathtub was cheap. When pulling up the shower knob, the faucet felt like it was coming off.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with either a balcony or patio. On the first floor they would be 116-126. Rooms 10...

Holiday Inn now runs the Lodge. We stayed for a week and the surroundings were beautiful. However, the Lodge hotel itself is getting old and in need of refurbishment. There was not one chair which was comfortable to sit in, and the bathroom fixtures were very dated and in need of replacement.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the cost of the stay was reasonable. The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful.

In town for business, a colleague made this reservation for me ahead of time. Check-in was fast and efficient, even on a Saturday evening. The room was clean and spacious. The heating/AC unit has a "constant fan" feature which I enjoy to provide background noise. The bed was quite comfortable. I did not make use of many of the amenities at this resort. I would definitely stay here again.
