I loved my visit to the C.H. Bailey House. It was the perfect country retreat that I was hoping for. the setting is gorgeous with golden hillsides, fields and cows grazing in the distance. It was so peaceful and relaxing to be there as a break from a long drive. The house is charming, tasteful and comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and organized with every comfort in mind. The thougthful hostess has a keen attention to all the little details that make guests comfortable and welcome. I was greated with the option of chilled wine, sodas and excellent shortbread cookies. There were dinner suggestions or the option to settle in in the garden on adirondack chairs, in the lovely patio garden or on the porch swing on the the front porch.
The room was spacious, with all the modern amenities including a flat screen tv and private bathroom and a sitting room. the decor was in impecable taste, interesting with lots orf character an not fussy and overdone as some BB's can be. The country is so quiet and peaceful and the bed so comfortable that it would be impossible to not get a good nights sleep.
In the morning coffee was served with biscotti an hour before breakfast. Breakfast location choices abound from a tasteful dining room or outrdoors on the front porch or in the garden. I enjoyed fresh blackberries with yougurt, fresh bread with home grown heirloom tomatos, proscuitto and poarch eggs and fresh baked lemon muffins. Excellent, decadent and just right.
I highly reccomend the C. H. Bailey House and am planning my a return visit with my partner soon.
