“High class breakfast, if pricey.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2013

Everything is well prepared, pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, hot chocolate. And service is excellent as well. They are a little on the high side, but worth it. Only breakfast, and only until 2 PM.

“Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2013 via mobile

We have been other locations in the chain. This menu is the same as others in the chain. Well executed breakfasts that are Huge when you figure in the side of pancakes. Kind of. Speedy but you won't leave hungry or disappointed.

“Best breakfast in Salem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2013

Though this is part of a chain, the food in both Salem locations is just better than in other locations we have tried! Once you taste, you will just know that the best eggs, butter, and other ingredients were used. Servings are big enough to share, too. There is almost always a pretty long wait on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and you will quickly learn why people think it is worthwhile to wait!
You can also get breakfast for lunch here, but the restaurant closes mid-afternoon. They have found what they do well, and they just keep on doing it!

“So Many Options!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 December 2012

I love this restaurant! I have been to both the North Salem OPH on Portland Road, and the South Salem one on Commercial. If you don't get there early, you'll have a bit of a wait, as this restaurant is VERY popular, and for a good reason. They have many specialty pancakes (the Swedish with lingonberries is my personal favorite), combo breakfasts with the usual breakfast meats, oatmeal, omeletes, and so much more. Their potatoes are boiled, then hand cut and homefried, with just a hint of crispy brown in places. The ketchup is delivered in a smal dish, not a commercial squeeze bottle. When in season, they have fresh fruit with real whipped cream made in the restaurant - none of that aerosol stuff. The coffee is delicious, and served with a small pitcher of real cream. Small details like the ketchup and cream add an extra special touch to their already amazing fare, and separate them by miles from the chain restaurants so popular in Salem.

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. It is a little pricey for breakfast, they are only open until 2 pm, and if you require pop with your meals, you'll be disappointed, as they don't serve it here. Probably the only negative thing about OPH is, as I mentioned earlier, the sometimes lengthy wait for a table on weekends, but it is really worth it!
