This museum is really interesting and the staff member there was knowledgeable and friendly. The personal stories of some of the patients were really interesting - in addition to text stories, there are old fashioned phones with recorded stories that you can listen to.I loved seeing the old equipment and day to day necessities. My oldest child (9) found this interesting, my younger two did not, and my partner took them outside to the beautiful grounds for a walk while I finished looking around. The exhibit on Cuckoo's Nest was well done and informative.
Prices are low and worth it!

$4.00 General
$3.00 Seniors and Students with ID
$2.00 Youths (6-18, children under 6 are free with an adult)

If you are at all interested in Mental Health, and even some of the early treatments, then you will enjoy this small museum.

You will also see some scenes from the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" which was filmed at the hospital.

We saw this on trip advisor and as a nurse I was very interested. It is small but well done showing methods of mental health treatment. I thought we would see more of the tools but the samples they had were well done. They only accept cash so that was a disadvantage but one of our party fortunately had enough on him and the ladies were gracious enough to allow us to mail back a donation if we hadn't had cash. 5 adults and one child was only 20 $ so not to bad. All and all worth the stop.
