“Great choice for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013 via mobile

The soups and salads at Wild Pear were tasty and creative. Be sure to ask about the specials - I had the special lentil soup and an Italian sandwich with coppa ham. My husband had the open face meatloaf sandwich with a mushrooms gravy. Portions were large but not overwhelming.

Despite being Thanksgiving week, we had to wait for a table. On a typical weekday, it would be a good idea to arrive outside the business lunch rush.

“Never Disappoints!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

My brother lives in Salem and whenever I visit, the two of us have lunch at the Wild Pear. I've also had lunch here on my own. I've always experienced very nice service, especially at off peak hours. The ambiance is pleasing and the menu is varied and thoughtful. Their soups are especially interesting. Though I've not been there at happy hour, they have some really great menu items at appealing prices. And, the desserts look fabulous.

“No service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

Very disappointing experience. As a single woman attempting to get service on two different occassions, I was pointed ignored and on the second trip just left the place. They are supposed to be excellent and when they were way out in the country it was a good experience and good service.

“Phenomenal Pho as Promised (and get the chocolate-espresso torte to go!)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2013

Wild Pear is a picturesque cafe with refurbished tin ceilings and exposed brick walls. The menu has something for everyone - but you need to order the pho. The result of a 3-day cooking process, this beef-based soup is phenomenal. Per the menu, the portion is generous, which is untrue. The portion is ginormous - so be hungry!

And before you leave, order the chocolate-espresso torte to go, it is also phenomenal.

We would return to the Wild Pear again. The menu was diverse and the staff was very friendly.
