I have been the patron of ramen Ichiban for many years, and I've always enjoyed the food. Recently the owner gave me a new dish called katsudon which is similar to tonkatsu, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I miss that he doesn't have any Japanese magazines anymore they're all people magazines or fashion magazines but I guess you have to go with the times. I for one understand that prices have had to go up a little bit because the economy is in such a stink hole. I still will visit this place because I love the food.
All in all I think the food out weighs anything else and you should definitely give this place a chance.
