“Excellent stay!”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sandy Salmon for two nights. This is really a very nice place! Our room overlooked the river and the view is just great! The entire house was decorated in a high quality and good taste. You can tell how much effort the owner put in there. Everything is cozy clean and homy. The breakfast was fantastic! Maggie is such a good cook! Jerry and Maggie are very nice and fun persons, warm and kindly. We had a very nice experience there!

I found this lodge on the 'net' and we've waited over a year to stay here. We were delighted to visit with Jerry and Maggie about their construction as well as experience staying in the most grand log home. Details abound everywhere you look. They have gone to great lengths to provide the most wonderful surroundings, making our stay delicious in every way! We love the "Fishing Hole", only wishing it was warmer so that we could've sat on the balcony over the rivers and enjoyed the water rushing by at night. Our breakfast was wonderful and plentiful/beautifully presented. Enjoyed the 3 other guests during stay. One night is not enough!

Room Tip: River side..."Fishing Hole" has stunning view over the rivers converging together.

We have stayed at a number of 5 star resorts and few, if any, have compared to the beauty and serenity of this bed and breakfast. Not only is it a beautifully appointed lodge, the river setting and proximity to Mount Hood make it an ideal getaway any time of year. Your hosts, Jerry and Maggie will have you feel as though the place is yours. Romantic, peaceful and friendly, this is a must stay!!! The food was exquisite as well.

Room Tip: We stayed in the eagles nest. Worth every penny.

Sandy Salmon would be the most wonderfully crafted home I have ever seen - with fantastic use of timber and glass, that takes advantage of the wonderful views of the Sandy and Salmon rivers and the mountains, and finished to an extremely high standard.
Our hosts really went out of their way to make us comfortable and make us feel part of their family.
On arrival, they served us the most delicious freshly made Danishes I had ever eaten. And the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Maggie is an incredible cook. Jerry is extremely helpful with local knowledge and suggestions.
Our stay wasn't long enough, and we would love to return. Not only for the fabulous hospitality, but also for all the places we didn't have time to see.

Room Tip: We had the fishing hole room, which had a fabulous view of the confluence of the 2 rivers from the d...

We stayed at 4 B&B's on our driving tour, and Sandy Salmon was by far the most romantic, the most peaceful, and the most beautiful. No detail of this beautiful 7,000 foot log cabin has not been lovingly chosen and cared for. The lofty entrance reminded us of lodges in Vail, and the vistas out the two story back windows were breath-taking. We chose the balcony room "The Fishing Hole" so we could sit outside and view the conjunction of the two rivers. What a peaceful night, sleeping to the rushing of the rivers below, and the stars above. The hosts were out of this world, making us feel welcome to use any part of this massive yet welcoming home. We might just return to shoot billiards, or read a book. A large entertainment room with television was available, but we preferred to watch the stars. As we only had a day, we walked through the rain forest path to the yard below, and watched local teenagers catch salmon in the river. What a gorgeous retreat. We will return when we head this way again. This was the highlight of our trip through Oregon and Washington.

Room Tip: All are beautiful, but if you want a balcony, choose carefully, and read descriptions.

Named for the two rivers that come together right under the deck - this house is beautiful and cozy. Maggie and Jerry are excellent hosts - great conversation and GREAT food. Our room was great - we slept with the french doors open (screen closed of course!) to the sound of the rivers...very nice.

Nice trail down to the river edge, great veiw from the trail above. very nice grounds, easy parking, easy to find.

overall, a great experience!

I cannot say enough nice things about this place. It is beautiful between two rivers. The owners make you feel right at home. We were greeted with fresh raspberry pie, delicious. They helped us plan out our itinerary for the next day. Breakfast was amazing. Fresh peaches and blueberries followed by eggs and bacon then followed by the lightest flakiest waffle I have ever had. She also had fresh strawberries and whipped cream for the waffles. I wished we could have stayed there longer. The home was built by the owner and they payed attention to every detail. Just perfect. Do yourself a favor & stay here if you are in the Area. Worth every penny!
