I hate to review this place; it's just too good to be true. We needed a place to stay over New Year's that was close to a friends cabin, and this was our best option. It is at the very North end of the Promanade walkway, and is right on the ocean.

We picked the only two bed unit (207); which is upstairs, and has a peek-a-boo view of the ocean; if you look North out over the top of the parking lot. (see pics)

It has been remodeled; has beautiful colors thruout, was super clean, and was as quiet as can be. The bed was awesome.(the Boss is really picky!) It has an efficiency kitchen, and our shower/ bath was quite small. We had copious amount of hot water.

Next time we will get one of the ocean view studios or one bed rooms. We checked some of them out, and they were just as nice as the room we had.

The owners; Judy and Michael, were great to work with. We had two cars and had no problem with parking.

We absolutely loved the TradeWinds in Seaside! We stayed in unit 202 and it was fabulous! It has a very cute cozy beach theme, with a queen bed and two chairs. This unit is pet friendly so we brought along our kitty and she loved the ocean view window! It is at the North end of the prom with about a 10-15 minute walk into town. You get a great view of the sand dunes and ocean, with only a short walk down to the beach. It's also very quiet at this end of the beach and private! Great for couples looking for peace and quiet when they are away from the town. The management was GREAT! They had so much information to give and even gave us 10% off restaurants when we arrived and said we could have as many as we like! They were always nice, saying hello when we saw them out and about even! They really welcome you to Seaside. The maid service is nice also, you get to pick and choose if you want service or not and since we had our kitty with us we decided not to receive any services but I did go out one time to catch the maid and she took all our towels and brought fresh ones up within minutes! They really care about your needs here. I can't say enough good things about our stay at Tradewinds I loved everything! Last but not least I'm sure some people miss it on there website, but although they do not have a pool/fitness area on site they do give you FREE passes to the Sunset Empire pool thats only a 5 minutes drive away where there are two pools, a slide, and fitness room! This is completely free!! If you want an ocean front room and a quiet stay in Seaside this is the place to go! Unit 202 is just so cozy and welcoming! (Management told us 201 is a great stay as well, with a tucked away unit and a telescope inside!!)

My ONLY con was I wish there was screens on pet friendly rooms :) I wanted to open the window to hear the ocean breeze but was scared my cat would fall out the window since she LOVES to open things and sit in the window! :) Although I can understand not having screens since it kind of obstructs the view..

Room Tip: Unit 202 is great! Cute theme and great view! Did get a peek inside 201 when I went in to talk to...

We have stayed here 3 times so far, and will again! This price is very reasonable and each condo is welcoming, cosy and comfortable. The views are superb, especially from the 2nd floor. We have stayed in #206 and #201. Our favorite is #206 with the king bed and two window views, but #201 took our dog, also. It is close to the beach and within easy walking to all of the local amenities.

We have stayed here for 3 years now and absolutely love it! We have been coming to Seaside for about 10 years and had always stayed at the Best Western. When their prices became outrageously high, we started looking for something else. We came across the Tradewinds and it is the best! The price is extremely affordable and they offer a senior discount. It has allowed us to stay longer than we could before. It is located close to the beach but far enough away from downtown that it is very quiet at night, unlike the Best Western where we had to endure a very noisy party on the beach one night. It is a nice walk to downtown, though. Management is very friendly and helpful. Most of the units are pet-friendly. We always pick 103 because it has a second TV in the bedroom. The room is always clean and the kitchen has everything I need to cook. The owners even leave dog biscuits and an old towel to dry him off after a walk. We always come in mid-September and the weather is usually nice. We have encountered a few rainy days but we have also had many days of gorgeous weather too. The sunsets are spectacular and I have taken a number of pictures over the years. We also always go to Zinger's for ice cream and to Norma's for seafood.

Ahhhh....the quiet little Tradewinds! Away from busy downtown Seaside - just an invigorating walk will take you right downtown or wherever you want to go. Each individual unit is described on the website so you can pick whichever decor suits your fancy. The first night we stayed in unit 204 and the second night in unit 206. 204 was lovely with a queen bed and of course that fantastic view of the ocean and nothing to complain about, but 206 was the best stay with a luxurious king size bed and feeling of privacy as you are right on the very north end of the building with a little north window to add to the large picture window to view the ocean and sunset. The beach stroll is a little more private with not as many people. Be prepared for wind or rain no matter when you stay. We were there end of September and just caught two incredibly beautiful days.

Tradewinds is an older building that is very well kept up but not a traditional hotel as there is no ice machine, but you don't need any of that as each unit has little kitchens with fridges, sinks and either stove or hotplates. Have to say unit 206 is decorated so nicely with the traditional and soothing beach decor. Be sure to check regarding pets as some units accept them and some do not, and that is good too! Plenty of parking for everyone.

Our favorite thing to do was to rent bicycles and ride the entire Promenade from the south end to the north end, which is where the Tradewinds is and then around town. So much to do and see every time in Seaside, Or. We will be back to unit 206, or others again, just for something different!

Room Tip: Choose your favorite room style from the website! I believe 2nd floor has the better ocean views...
