We enjoyed our night at River Inn and would definitely stay there again. It is a new hotel and we liked several things about our stay; the friendly staff at the front desk; the comfortable, king-sized bed; the salt water swimming pool; having a fridge and microwave in our room; the free breakfast; and the cozy 1st floor patio area with a a gas firepit. The beach and shopping were within walking distance. We were on the opposite side of the river so we had a westerly view of the parking lot and buildings on the beach.

This was our second visit to Seaside, with out first last year, 2013, when we stayed at the Inn at Seaside.
We enjoyed our stay there so we decided to try their new hotel and can advise that we were not disappointed.
This hotel far exceeds the Inn at seaside. We had a suite which included a king bed and pull out sofa and a living room with pull out sofa.
We are a family of 6 so this was perfect.
The hotel is quite nice being brand new and everything thing is in good condition. My kids loved the playground, the fire pit, pool and hot tub.

The breakfast can get busy and they need a better selection of cereal.
I was disappointed in the coffee as being too weak. Even the keurig coffee in the bedrooms were weak.

They also do not have a safe in the room or at the front desk. This can be improved.

We enjoyed our stay and would consider staying here again.

we booked the river inn after reading all of the other reviews left by travellers, and it was a great choice! it met all of our criteria: air conditioning, swimming pool, connecting rooms (the living space in between them was perfect!), free wifi & parking, walking distance to everything!

beds: super comfortable - i loved my sleep! yes the beds were definitely higher than anything i'd seen before - my 5 year old would run and launch himself up. but we did notice that our 2 queen beds were slightly higher than the adjoining room with a king bed. the hotel provided a pack & play for our baby - because the hotel is still new, the pack & play was in mint condition!

noise: yes, you can hear people running up/down the hallway, or in the rooms above you (we were on the 2nd floor). however, due to the family nature of seaside, it was pretty quiet after 10 p.m. we had a river-view room, so we didn't have any street noise. also, our 5 year old really enjoyed watching the pedal-boaters go by.

elevator: yes, there's only 1, and you'll probably have to wait. but if you live in a condo, this shouldn't be a foreign concept. the hotel is only 4 floors, so if you're able-bodied, there are stairs on both ends of the hotel.

food: for a continental breakfast, the selection exceeded my expectations - cook-your-own waffles, variety of breads/bagels, yogurt, boiled eggs, juices/flavoured water, coffee, etc. around 8 a.m., it's pretty quiet and not too busy, but by 9 a.m., we got the only table left and we had to wait to use the cooking appliances. i also appreciated the water cooler in the lobby - we filled our bottles before our daily excursion.

cleanliness: my only complaint was that the carpets could use a cleaning - my son's feet were turning black after only an hour in the room. from that point on, we all wore socks or slippers.

kudos: we were trying to find the boat dock and bike rentals, and no one in the stores (or at the hotel check-in) seemed to know where they were located or what time they opened. however, when we asked our room attendants, they knew exactly what we wanted and pointed us in the right direction!

overall, great accommodation, and i would absolutely book here again!

a few of us stayed hear after Hood to Coast Race, it was perfect! Close enough to walk to the beach but far enough away that we didn't hear the music blaring. Beautiful smaller hotel, very comfortable.

We arrived past midnight and were checked in effortlessly, then were greeted by spacious comfort including engulfingly large beds, a general sense of newness and cleanliness, complementary toffees and even animal-shaped towels. The decor at reception and the dining room are equally attractive. They have some outdoor patio seating and a playground as well. Breakfast included two waffle making machines among pastries and the usual. The elevator is shockingly slow so we preferred taking the stairs when we weren't moving luggage. Parking in the hotel lot was hard to find late at night and we parked on the adjacent street. This hotel is very close to cannon beach and we would have explored Seaside if we had more time. All the staff here were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was good...deluxe continental with a waffle bar, chocolate chip cookies at check in, nice pool. Good service. Nothing fancy but good. It's next to DQ. Close to the main street of shops and restaurants. A few blocks from the prom.
