My husband and my recent two night stay at this B&B was met with disappointment. The hosts Jack & Lesle Palmeri are rule orientated. We were told to take off our shoes if they had any sand on them (like we wouldn't know that), that breakfast was served at exactly 9 a.m. and that we were not to open the window to the room as it was windy. In the room was a framed list of rules to "guide" the guest during the stay. The first morning the guests were instructed by Lesle to not take their finger and catch the syrup from the container it was in. I'm not sure she realized we were adults rather than children! My husband was not allowed to carry his cup and saucer with a spoon. When he mistakenly did this one morning the spoon was wisked from his saucer by Lesle and returned to the area that housed the coffee carafe's. We stayed in the Sunset room which has a king size bed. The bed was very uncomfortable as it was quite hard. It also squeeked whenever we moved. The walls are not well insulated. We could hear the guest in the next room continuously clear his throat from about 6 a.m. onwards. Breakfast was sparse and each morning sausages were served despite our comments about not liking them. Coffee is not prepared much in advance of breakfast despite being told it would be. As well, the "rereshments in the parlour" that are advertised on their web site were non existent. When I made the reservation I was asked about type of coffee we preferred (flavoured/dark roast, etc)however, there was no distinction about coffee's in the morning- it was regular or decaf. To top our disappointment with this B&B Jack insisted on viewing our room prior to us leaving to "ensure we didn't leave anything" despite assuring him we had all our belongings. It obviously was his way of checking out the room to ensure we didn't steal anything. This was done with other guests as well. The 4 week cancellation policy is excessive in our opinion. The home is clean and the hosts are friendly and are helpful when asked questions about local attractions. The home is very conveniently located less than a block to the promendate and beach. It would not be a place we would be comfortable staying at in the future.
