“great little place to stay ...”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

my sister and I stayed 1 night July 29 as we travelled down the O coast.
After checking out a few places, Sandy Cove Inn gave us the most reasonable rate and also gave us a warm welcome like they truly were happy to have us for guests.
- the young gal who checked us in even ran up the stairs with a microwave oven for our room. :)
-each room is decorated differently and ours had a 'Sixties' flower-power theme - great fun complete with a lava lamp, macramé, painted flowers - even a big old glass ashtray - (go figure teehee ...) lol
the location is a block from the beach promenade and there is also a market and pub/restaurant right across the street.
the 'lobby' has a pretty good selection of free movie videos and they actually carry a couple of copies of 'Goonies'.
the beds were great!! - brand new so a real bonus!!
I would recommend this little family run inn for value, comfort and friendliness.
best wishes to all

We have been here three times now. A perfect stay each time. Friendly people. Clean rooms. Within an easy 5 minute walk to the beach. The "U" pub across the street has great clam chowder. Auntie M's down the street has the best scones one can find.

I will come back repeatedly.

Room Tip: If traveling with dogs the rooms on the ground floor 17, 18 and 19 are the best.

Very cute and cozy little "Beach Room" experience. Just enough off the main drag to be quieter and close enough to be convienently located everything you come to Seaside for. Rooms are small and no view to speak of, but it's affordable and most of our time was spent outside the room and it's location was close enough to everything you come to Seaside for.

Room Tip: each room has a different theme

Very clean and trendy. The theme rooms are very cool. The price is right and the owners are friendly.

The location is great. Far enough away from downtown that it's nice and quiet. Only a couple of blocks to the beach.

Nice place to stay.

A reasonably priced room, a bit of a walk to town but we didn't mind. The walk is along the beach. The vintage game room was so unique. It added a bit of whimsy to our stay. We arrived a bit early so we thought we would just park and walk down to the beach, however they let us in the room early since it was ready. The staff was very welcoming.

Room Tip: Be sure to check out the pictures of the rooms. They have several themed rooms that add to the uniqu...

I stayed here one night with my husband and 2 year old daughter. When I checked in, I immediately felt comfortable in the waiting area, which felt more like a living room than a lobby. The front desk guy was very warm and welcoming, and extremely helpful with recommendations as to what to do and eat, and tailored his recommendations to accommodate our toddler.

We had room 16, the Beach Room, with a queen bed, a queen futon and a twin bunk bed above that. A great option for kids. The room had unique beach themed decor, a curtain to separate the sleeping area from the little kitchen area and bathroom. This worked out nicely as the sleeping area stayed dim for our snoozing kid, and we stayed up and watched Goonies on the other side of the curtain. The room felt lived-in and cozy (as opposed to shiny and new), which I liked. Clean and well kept.

Across the street is a little supermarket and pub-type place, and 2 blocks away is a great breakfast/ lunch spot. We walked to the downtown area, which may have only taken 15 minutes for speed walking adults, but with a toddler it took about 30 minutes along the promenade. A pleasant walk, lined by vacation houses on one side and beach dunes and shrubbery on the other. We picked blackberries to snack on as we walked. It was definitely nice to be away from the downtown action.

Overall, it was a pleasant and refreshing change to stay at a mom n pop family owned place. I would recommend to my friends and would stay here again if ever in Seaside.

Room Tip: Choose the Beach Room if you have kids!

My sister and I stayed three nights at Sandy Cove Inn so I could attend a womens surfing retreat and the inn was the perfect location. This was the first time choosing to stay at a small property and I would (and will) return to this Inn time and time again.

Each room is a theme and I love that. The staff was helpful and movies are free.

The only thing missing was a hair dryer in the room.

Great access to the boardwalk, beach, food and more.
