We would definitely stay here again. Walking to the beach and prom was so convenient. No the hotel is not right in the center of all the activity but that is exactly what we liked about it. The room was not big but very cozy, clean and fun. We were even able to check in early without any problems. I agree with one review that a newer tv would have been nice but that is only because we were there on a stormy night. If the weather had been better I would never have noticed.

We were a little cautious going in because the inn was so small and unassuming when we drove up. When we walked in, we received a very cheerful welcome and got some great suggestions for dinner. We went up to our room, which was extremely clean and very cozy! We stayed in the Blue Room and absolutely loved it. Our only suggestions for them would be to perhaps put a foam pad on the mattress since it was very firm and to perhaps update their televisions/vcr systems. The location of the inn was pretty good. The prom was very close, and within about a 15 minute walk if you went down the path by the beach. Overall we had an excellent experience and would definitely stay there again!

When we read online that this place was 2 blocks from the beach and close to attractions, we figured that was accurate. Turns out, 2 blocks from the beach is the end of the prom....completely on the other end of the prom from the turnaround. The 'close to attractions' meant at least a mile from town....definitely not walking distance. There are no attractions close to this hotel. So...as nice, clean and quiet as this place was, we were not happy with the misleading info in the description on their website. We always stay within walking distance of everything when we stay in Seaside, and we were led to believe that was the case with this hotel. So if you are o.k. with having to drive back and forth every time you want to go to town, you will probably like this place. Also, bring your own coffee cups cause they give you very cheap ones that leak out of the bottom before you even finish your first cup.

This is an excellent place to stay very friendly staff, very clean rooms. I highly recommend this to every one. Close to the beach, each room has a different theme, Seaside has some fun shops and its a great place to go walking down the board walk.

We had a lovely stay at the Sandy Cove Inn. The manager was extremely helpful, and we loved the decor in the "60's Room." It is just a hop, skip, and jump away from the beach. There are restaurants and shopping very close by.

Room Tip: We liked the 60's room.

Apart from the comparatively reasonable price, we found nothing to recommend our one-night experience at Sandy Cove Inn. Our 'pet friendly' room felt gritty and seedy, carpet worn and stained. The effort to make the room theme-cute and chic mostly resulted in a hodgepodge of thrift shop curios leaving no flat surfaces for unpacking other than the bed. For a single visitor needing only a quick overnight stay in a reasonable lodging it might be OK, but certainly I couldn't imagine it as a romantic getaway unless having all the lights unreadably dim was calculated to create sensual arousal.

The staff was friendly when I could finally locate someone on our mid-afternoon arrival. The front desk was unmanned and the call box outside phone couldn't raise anyone. Finally I was only able to rouse someone using my cell phone.

We were provided a microwave on request but the Refrigerator/microwave alcove was a converted closet without lighting.
The mattress was comfortable but the wall hung television and VCR assembly was small and antiquated. There is no ability to use DVDs, but if you're still into video cassettes there is a library of old tapes in the office.

Sorry to sound like Scrooge for I try to support family-owned businesses and avoid the chain operations. My wife and I agreed on leaving that this was an experience we would not choose to repeat.

The Sandy Cove Inn is a family-owned boutique motel located two blocks from the beach and promenade in historic Seaside, Oregon. We are on the quiet end of town but still very close to the town’s attractions, and we combine the personal touch with modern conveniences like free WiFi and some pet-friendly rooms. We have everything from basic rooms to vacation rentals, and with both a market and restaurant just across the street, we are the perfect place for a fun, peaceful stay on the Oregon Coast. We even have themed rooms like the Wave Room with surf art, a wave mural and an actual surfboard; there’s also a 1940s Room, a Monopoly Room, and a Boat Room, among several others. We’re one of the last family-owned motels in town, and that means a lot to us.
