“Nice Folks...OK hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2013

We stayed here during a week-long family visit. It is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. However, it needs some updating and the continental breakfast in the lobby is very spartan (vending machine danish, for example). However, considering the very reasonable rates, it is adequate. The view of the Rogue River from the room is fantastic and the room was clean and in every way adequate. They had laundry facilities but they were "out of order" the entire week due to "severe" weather. It was in the 40s and foggy the entire week so not sure why it was closed for weather. We were here during Christmas week so it was pretty empty and the pool and spa were not open, obviously so I think a fair review of all this hotel has to offer would occur in the summer. It is the summer crowd of fisherman and rafter who make maintaining room conditions difficult.

Room Tip: Choose a kitchenette room so you can stock some goodies as there is nothing in the lobby and the loc...

This was the first time I've taken my dogs on a weekend trip. We needed a place to stay that would accommodate them. We were only there for one night. The room was large enough to setup their kennel, it was clean, and the view of the river was very nice. Had I seen the property in advance, I would have chosen a room on the ground floor, facing the river. That would have been more convenient for walking the dogs than having to take them up and down the stairs.

We stayed 1 night here while driving Oregons beautiful Scenic Byways. Great location close to Crater Lake without paying a huge amount of money. The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. Provided change for the washing/drying machines (very handy if you're travelling for a while) and gave a great recommendation for dinner nearby at a riverside restaurant. WiFi works well in rooms, as does the AC and shower. Nice lounge area to sit and relax. The free breakfast was small but appreciated. Fruit, cereal, waffles. Overall a good stay at a good price.

We stayed at Edgewater Inn for one night in August 2013, paying $105.93 total. There aren't many hotels that are convenient to Crater Lake National Park - that's Edgewater Inn's best feature. The room had two queen beds, a microwave, and a mini-fridge, and was dated in appearance (e.g. old-fashioned comforters). It was kind of clean but certainly not spotless (e.g. there was some food on the top of the fridge like it hadn't been wiped). There is no elevator. The staff was helpful: the desk clerk kindly gave us a first floor room when we called ahead and requested one (as we had a lot of heavy luggage) and loaned us a plunger when our toilet overflowed. Breakfast was mainly bagels and danish.

We are traveling by Motorcycles and our route took us this direction. The place is real nice and clean on the outside, with large open parking lot. The pool and Hot Tub were clean and felt good….or at least the Hot Tub did, only one of us dared the cold un-heated pool. It is located right on the river and if you get an upgraded room your back patio sits on the river, very nice view! The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The beds do need to be replaced, lumpy and well used. Our room (parking lot, not river) was clean and comfortable, A/C and Heat worked as expected. WIFI had some trouble but after they reset it worked OK. They have many hotspots around hotel so it is easy to get a strong signal. I would stay here again. Maybe a little pricy for what it is, but we were ok with it overall.

Room Tip: river facing rooms have real nice view and some have fireplaces!

We upgraded to a riverside view, which was lovely and comfortable, but cost an extra$30 a night, a bit steep we thought, but we enjoyed the river flowing by our room, watching the fishing boats going by. We were told the TV company the hotel used had gone bankrupt, so couldn't find any news channels, only the film Liberace, which was half way through when we turned the TV on. Very nice little village, but the restaurants close at 9pm. Miguels mexican was just a short walk over the bridge, and very nice and reasonable. Shady Cove is nice little spot, but because it poured with rain the whole time we were there, we couldn't go for walks in the evening, and because everywhere closed at 9pm, and no television to look at, it's a go to bed early sort of place. Breakfast was acceptable with the usual fare.

Room Tip: riverside rooms are best, but $30 per night extra

Stayed one night on the way to Crater Lake in September. Motel Style Inn and looks ok from the outside, the reception is bright and modern. Had a Queen room which are reasonable but a bit dated and a little small and dark, bed comfortable and clean but pillows a bit lumpy. Didn't have a riverside room , just walk over the bridge to the Mexican and sit outside for the same effect. The inn seems to concentrate on the riverside rooms and for the price should do more to the other rooms . Breakfast standard help yourself. Takes about an hour to Crater Lake .
