“Wonderful setting, beautiful room”
Reviewed 4 October 2012

Our extended family stayed here recently and we were all quite pleased with our rooms and the hospitality of the staff. Our room was lovely, clean and we had a nice view from our private patio.
I would recommend this resort without question.

We stayed here with the Dinner Package, which offered amazing value: an attractive, well-insulated king room with private patio; free parking; dinner for two with a bottle of wine; above average buffet breakfast; and admission to the Garden. Our room was fragrant from cleaning products when we arrived, but the day was warm so we were able to open the windows and two doors for excellent ventilation. Our room and our friends' room stayed warm, so we were all happy to be able to leave windows open at night.

Room Tip: Rooms in Buildings B and C have very private patios facing a field.

We've stayed here twice, approx 16 months apart and would stay here again. The first time it was a handy place to stay after hiking Silver Falls State Park. The second time, it was a way to break up the long drive from Bend to Cannon Beach. While not luxurious, the rooms were clean, the beds were fine. There is a coffee maker in the room and free wi-fi. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant both times. Dinner was hit and miss; breakfast was fine. They have a selection of local/Oregon beers on draft. You can visit the Oregon Garden through an entrance just out the front door; we did this both times. The garden is a good place to take a walk and worth a visit--it's a bit young but they are trying very hard and I think it will be spectacular as time goes on. The staff could be a little friendlier. We asked for a one-hour extension on checkout time due to massages we booked onsite and were denied. I realize it was my error, but it was a weekday in the second week of September. However, we were accommodated by the spa, who allowed us to shower there. We will return if we are in the area.

I took advantage of a special package at this resort and it was a great experience. I was taken aback by another person's bad revue, so that is why I am writing. The room was very large and clean with 2 very comfortable queen beds, a fireplace, microwave, and frig. The location is lovely and the package included a great dinner and a full breakfast and entrance into the lovely garden. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great buy for the money.

Room Tip: all the rooms are good

My husband and I spent our anniversary at Oregon Gardens Resort in August and had an enjoyable visit. The grounds are unique with all the interesting plants and flowers along the walkways. It did not have a "well groomed" resort look in the area where we were, but interesting nonetheless. We got a deal through TravelZoo for $99 for the first night, including dinner and breakfast the next morning. We stayed an additional night for $79, no dinner included. Our room was E126, which had a nice King bed, microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, table and chairs, plus a comfortable overstuffed chair...oh, and a fireplace which we didn't need, but was a nice touch. Everything in the room was very clean and inviting. There is also a private little patio area on the back side which we didn't use. It could have used some grounds-type maintenance.
Our meal of fresh grilled wild salmon was very satisfying and our server was pleasant, though busy. The salmon was a $25 meal. n this Travelzoo deal they also gift you with a bottle of house wine, which my husband enjoyed and took with him back to the room and then home. We were told one could also bring the bottle back to dinner the following night, if desired. We had a vegetarian entree the following night which was also good.
Breakfast was a bit different each of the two mornings we were there, and was served buffet style...not a lavish spread, but adequate with sweet rolls, muffins, an egg dish, and a blackberry crisp-type dish one morning which was delicious, plus fresh fruit.
We learned that a person can often call the resort directly and get the deal we got through Travelzoo for $109 for the night, which is still a good deal with dinner and breakfast included. I'm told the Travelzoo deal is offered about twice a year. Joining the Travelzoo site is free.
There is a "back door" entrance to Oregon Gardens which resort guests may use anytime it is light enough to walk the block or so to the gardens through an open field. The gardens were also enjoyable, though perhaps not at their peak. There is no great comparison to many beautiful gardens we have visited in Victoria, Pennsylvania, Alabama, etc., but they were interesting with roses, hydrangeas, veggie test gardens and water features included.
Silver Falls State Park with its picturesque waterfalls and forest is about half an hour away, and we spent several hours there with friends. For those who love to shop, the resort is about 20 minutes from the sprawling Woodburn Outlet Mall. On the way you can stop in Mt. Angel and see the largest US glockenspiel. It plays delightful "music box" like "Eidelweiss" with moving life sized figures at given times every couple of hours as I recall.
We also took a walk around the town of Silverton to view some 20 historical murals painted on the sides of buildings...good exercise and we learned something.
Yes, we would go again!

Room Tip: The whole resort seems quiet. I overheard someone saying their bed was uncomfortable, so I can only...

The Oregon Garden Resort is in the Oregon tradition of resorts in natural settings with human scaled architecture and full service and amenities. Access to the Oregon Garden is a plus. Travelers using I-5 looking for an overnight stay in the mid-Willamette Valley should take the short detour to the Gardens and Hotel. Architecture buffs won't want to miss the Frank Lloyd Wright designed 'Gordon House' at the Garden.

Located in Silverton Oregon, voted one of the best small towns in the US, sits the Oregon Garden Resort. The resort in part of the Oregon Gardens, a large, pet friendly garden enjoyed either by foot or by the complimentary tram that offers friendly narration as you enjoy the garden.
The resort is new, all the guest rooms are located in bungalows spread throughout the property.
All rooms have either a patio or balcony and a gas fireplace. Roomy with vaulted ceilings, the beds are comfortable; they use tripe sheeting and real down quilts. The double queen rooms are the largest; request one. Pet friendly resort and garden. Included with your stay is a buffet breakfast; eggs, bacon etc. Nothing special. Non smoking property, not just non smoking rooms. We noticed, however the staff level in the lounge both nights was not sufficient. There was a large group meeting plus a wedding. They did not take this into account when staffing. Very unfortunate. Overall, well worth visiting and staying. This is our second trip. And last but not least, the Oregon Gardens is the only place in Oregon to see a Frank Lloyd Wright House. It was relocated to the gardens several years ago and is definitely a highlight when visiting the garden. Be sure to book a private tour of the house before you arrive. Well worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for a double queen for a larger room.
