My wife and I have lived in the Bend area for about 23 years. We have tried just about every Mexican restaurant in this area. We have eaten Mexican food all over the United States. By far Rio has them all beat by a mile. Those non-foodies who did not rate this exceptional great restaurant with a minimum of 4 stars should continue to enjoy their Mexican cuisine at ABC Mexican type restaurants. As stated before the owner Roberto while not cooking walked around and checked on each an every table to make certain the customers were well satisfied with the quality of his food. The deco is very comfortable and relaxing. The service would be rated a Zagat 25-26.
As to the food, the menu is really unique and extremely tasty. You can tell each dish is made with care and the presentation is very appealing. This wonderful Mexican restaurant serves dishes that is not found in any average Mexican restaurant. If you are looking for tasty and something other than just plain enchiladas soaked in lots of cheese, this is the place. The prices are more than fair for the very fresh well prepared cuisine. Do not pay attention to the low raters and find out for yourself. Check out the beautiful outdoor dining patio weather permitting.
