“Wonderful rural country inn close to Eugene”
Reviewed 25 October 2009

During a week's holiday exploring Oregon's wine country, we found this B&B on the Internet, planned on a one night stay, and finally left with regret five days later. What a find! It is new, and has a clean modern feel. The large rooms have fireplaces, and french doors out to the ground floor patios, comfortable armchairs for reading in the window and a writing desk. The ensuite bathrooms are huge and beautifully finished. The south facing patio looks out across a rolling meadow to the McKenzie river at the bottom of the property. Our hosts were warm, friendly, and helpful. They teach cooking classes in Eugene and the food is excellent - breakfasts included fresh fruit from their garden, free range eggs from the neighbours, and home made breads. They happily serve a simple evening meal if you are too relaxed to drive into Eugene ( 15 minutes away) with homemade soup, sandwiches, salad, and local wines. There is a "family room" on the same floor as the bedrooms with a fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. There is lots to do locally - we went biking and hiking, explored Eugene, visited wineries, and the coast is about an hour away offering a good day trip. Our hosts took us on a river float in inflatable kayaks - we spent several hours in the warm autumn sun floating down the river with them. They are planning on offering cooking classes as well - I can't imagine a better weekend with friends than here, cooking and eating a meal together, and sipping local wine in the huge living room in front of the fire. We'll be back for sure.

Attended a late evening Oregon Duck football game and chose to stay in Eugene so that we could go hiking up in the Cascades the following day. I found this Inn via the internet as one of the few in the Eugene area that had available rooms. What a find!!! The inn is almost new (open the summer of 2009) and is beautiful! My wife and I were very impressed with the design, quality of materials and the spacious nature of the Inn. To top it off, the Inn owners will very gracious and very helpful. In addtion, the breakfast we had was great! We would strongly recommend this Inn as a quality place to stay in the Eugene area. The Inn has good access to Eugene, to I5 and to the surrounding area. Even though it is set in a rural setting, you can be downtown Eugene in probably ten to fifteen minutes. This is a great place to stay!

We selected this pet-friendly B & B as a base for touring Umpqua Valley wineries. Everything about it exceeded our expectations. The location is terrific: close to Eugene, but with a rural feel due to proximity to the McKenzie River. It's brand new, and the rooms are quite spacious, decorated with a contemporary flair (no antiques or lace). The bathrooms are huge and the bed is extremely comfortable. Our hosts provided local wine and appetizers at night, and a hearty yet healthy cooked-to-order breakfast (wonderful home made breads, eggs, bacon or ham, fruit, and great coffee). The breakfast area has huge windows overlooking a field, and the entire place is filled with light. The hosts are exceedingly gracious and knowledgeable about the area.
