Ok, this is going to be a long review, bare with me.
On a family emergency trip across Oregon, I got on line to find a last minute room at the Dalles, I had seen all the great reviews of Celilo Inn, so was sure we would not get a room, we did not even try to call. We called family that travel thru here a lot and they recommended Cousins Inn, so we stopped their first. Lo and behold there is some kind of RailRoad thing in town, so no room at the Inn. (Pun intended) They said maybe Comfort Inn, nope not their either. They said, go "up the hill" and showed us on a map (thank goodness, cuz it is sure an unlikely entrance). Well, guess what is "up the hill" the Celilo Inn. First the view, WOW. The outside of the building is very 50's, since it has been here since then, a glass of welcome wine as we check in, how about that. Since the room availability was limited we got a 'smallish' room, but as stated above, I have paid a lot more, for a lot less. This room is spotless, the decor is 'Deco' style, totally redone, all updated fixtures, 4 fluffy pillows, comfy bed, need I say more. Don't stay any where else. This has made this sad family emergency trip a little less stressful.More
