“Get there before 3:55. ”

Went to see the lighthouse on our last day at the oregon coast. We were not allowed to go up even though it was not 4:00 yet. It is staffed by volunteers, so they wanted to leave on the spot at 4:00. It has a beautiful surrounding scenery that reminded me s bit if hawaii.

“They kicked us out.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

The one road is closed when we got out to the light house we were shocked to see is was a short light house. We went inside it was 5 minutes to 4:00. The guy there asked us to leave. We told the guy what happened with the closed road. Then I told him we went to Cape Disapoitment and they closed the gate on us. We are not having good luck with lighthouses. He wouldn't let us have a quick look. So if you go out there be on time and the closed road is really closed someone has pulled the sign off the road. It was a disappointment for us and the guy that gives the tours will not budge quiting time is final.

“Scenic Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

The Cape Meares lighhouse is very easy to access with a very easy hike. The views are stunning. Also available are some other trails where you can explore the wildlife and walk among nature.

“Very cool”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

this lighthouse is not in use and it may be due to some knucklehead who shot out the lens. It is a wonderful lighthouse and not far away (in the same parking area) is the octopus tree. I suggest going and seeing both of these attractions.

“Breathtaking Scenery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

Worth a quick side trip if you are passing through the area. The lighthouse is small but interesting, and the view is incredible. It's a short hike to the lighthouse and another short hike (and a tad steep in parts) to visit the Octopus Tree, but both hikes are do-able for even those who are not fit. The nearby Octopus Tree was beautiful and shouldn't be missed as it is accessed from the same parking lot used for the lighthouse.
