“Really quaint restored cabin in a beautiful spot”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

We stayed in the Rogue River Lodge cabin for 2 nights while visiting Crater Lake. It was about 1.5 hours away. It's extremely difficult to get closer to the Lake without camping due to the size of the national park. The cabin was very nice and well done. I loved all the antiques including a working stove and icebox. The river was beautiful. Anne the owner was very nice and pleasant to visit with. The restaurant's food was quite good. One disclaimer - no Wifi, no TV. If you are a technology addict you will be in withdrawal.

Room Tip: There's only one cabin.

We stayed 2 nights recently, and we know we will be back again. The cabin has all sorts of "old" touches that are really fun to see. And the really important things for a perfect vacation are there too: comfortable bed, air conditioning (as it was in the 90's when we were there) and one of the most relaxing to look at and beautiful river views we have seen. Lee was a terrific host, bringing us a delicious breakfast each morning and our meals at the restaurant were wonderful. Great service by everyone at the restaurant too. We can't wait to visit again.

I continue to come back here each year and stay in cabin 2. It is like coming home again. We were welcomed by Lee with a hug! Anything we wanted was promptly given. The staff are wonderful. Kim and Sonya gave great service and advice on dinner selections. We felt safe and were treated like royalty. The food is absolutely the best in the greater Medford area. I can't say enough about the four nights we were there! Thank you, lee and Anne and your staff for a wonderful experience. We already booked the cabin for next year.

Only one or two lucky people get the opportunity to stay each night at this amazing property on the Rogue River. After dining at either the informal restaurant downstairs or the elegant and impressive dining room upstairs or at the pavilion perched on the river, you stroll to the one remaining 1930s cabin with lovely plantings right on the bank of the river. You can fish from the wide deck that runs the length of the back of the cabin, accessible by french doors from both the bedroom and living room. The charming cabin is decorated in period style, complete with vintage kitchen equipment, flashlight, binoculars and telephone, but everything works. The bed is very comfortable and from it you can view the river with the moon shining on it. There's a large fireplace with duraflame logs and comfortable chairs and a cupboard full of books and games to while away an evening.

Breakfast is delivered each morning with hot quiche, waffles or omelets, fresh fruit, juice and coffee which can be enjoyed from a table on your deck. The food is delicious and plentiful.

We stayed for 5 nights for an anniversary celebration and loved the experience. It was mid-week and quiet, in the late off-season. In good weather, on the weekend, it could be less private as there is a dining pavilion just adjacent, overlooking the river, where they also host weddings. However, the owners have done a wonderful job of making it obvious that the cabin is private with a gate and signs. The deck is not visible from anywhere but the river itself, where rafters and driftboats pass by. Other than that the only noise is the river and birds.

The owners were helpful and friendly as was the staff. The price is incredibly reasonable, especially in the off-season. There is a futon in the living room if you have more than 2 in your party.

Room Tip: You don't have much choice! The bed in the bedroom is very comfortable though high, if you'...

We had a great 2-night stay at the cabin right along the Rogue River. Lee has done a truly masterful job of returning the cabin back to its 1930s heyday. And everything inside the cabin is faithful to the period. We definitely felt as though we had travelled back in time. The setting was serene and the care provided by Lee and Anne was so appreciated. Please say hello to Scooter, the Lodge Cat, when you go there.
