Stayed here in 39 ' RV. Very clean, quiet campground with very clean pool and hot tub which is, of course, inside. Place for campfire, also. Helpful, friendly staff. Questions above do not account for inability to evaluate rooms if staying in your own RV which is why I rated it neutral.

We recently returned from a spring break trip to MT. Hood RV village. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay. The facilities are great for kids and adults. Large indoor pool with hot tub and game room are excellent when the weather is subpar. There is also some great hiking trails that are very well kept and easy to follow for the non-hikers. Restrooms and showers are centrally located throughout the park. My wife did mention that her shower had some issues with water pressure. Also, all roads are paved around the park which allowed my kids to ride bikes. The cafe has been closed for several months so the nearest restaurant is a mile away. If you have a car, you are only 15 minutes from Sandy and 25 from troutdale

I read the other reviews posted on this site and was a little nervous to stay. We stayed in a premium RV site close to the resort amenities. With four children, ranging from 12 to 3, we loved it! Kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Large playground for the little ones. Pool, foosball, ping pong, croquet, ice cream socials, karaoke, restaurant on site, BBQ for a nominal fee and enjoyable campfires. We even saw a bunch of ballroom dancers. We will certainly return. Took a small hike down to the river with all four kids. Not sure why others who posted had such a poor experience? We found the staff to be friendly and enjoyed meeting other campers. We felt like the resort amenities were in good condition and well worth the money. Little kids enjoyed the blow up kiddie water slide and kiddie pool along with the food and games provided on the lawn.

We stayed at Moonshadow Lodge; a cozy cottage right on the Salmon river. The place is the best and the most popular cottage (so if there is a special weekend you have in mind - book now).
The pool and the other amenities are pretty darn good, but not perfect. It is wonderful for kids.
If you are a picky person, you should probably stay at a hotel.

Room Tip: Moonshadow Lodge is really the best cottage

I stayed here for SARCON2010 (A regional search and rescue conference). I am a female camping alone (albeit with a large dog). The check in was easy, and the original campsite was beautiful. I set up camp and left for the conference. When I came back the manager was waiting for me. He reported bear sightings nearby and asked if I wanted to move (since I was tent camping).. I decided yes and he helped me pack up my gear and move to a less isolated section. I stayed there for several days, leaving all my gear set up all day while I attended classes and had NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER! I have and do recommend this campground. The showers were clean, warm and hot water plentiful. They had no problems with my search dog and I will certainly return. Since I was attending classes all day I did not use their pool or visit their rec room.

First of all, this in no resort. It;s a campground period. If you don't lke being surrounded by noisy kids and barking dogs all day and up to 11:00 pm at night, not to mentioned the smokey fires around you when the weather is 80 degrees, then have at it. W ith over 300 spots for an rv to be parked, they put you everyone together in one area. I cannot tell you how terrible this place is. If you like this sort of thing, go for it. Oh, I almost forgot, forget abount internet service. You'll never get it and if you do, you will have to pay for it.

Yes, the rec room leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, there are some folks hanging out there who might make some bad life choices but just stay away from them. And in the playground area, watch your kids and if there are some kids there bullying them just bully them back.

That said, the rustic cabins are cheap and fun. The kids love them.

The indoor pool is a perfect size and there is plenty of chlorine it it. The hot tub is also large and clean enough.

There are private cabins you can rent which are awesome - full kitchens, bedrooms, decks, and you can walk right down to the water and trails.

Nearby, go to the Wildwood Recreation area and follow the educational trail, use the big fields for football and soccer games and a picnic.

We go up here at least twice a year if not more!
