We had an enjoyable meal at Veya but my rating is swayed by the fact it was crazy expensive by taxi to get there from Malliouhana ($26 each way) and when we arrived our reservation was not listed. Unfortunately the hostess implied that I must have had the incorrect date. Last minute I had grabbed our reservation email (made two months ahead) and the hostess proceeded to read the entire email verifying date/time and the person who confirmed the reservation and with a bit of an attitude said "okay follow me". Interestingly, the table next to us never had anyone sit down the entire time so why the attitude?? Moral of the story - bring your confirmation email! We started with the poached shrimp which was okay. I had the Korean BB pork tenderloin which was my favorite meal of the four restaurants we dined at in Anguilla. My friend had the Mahi-Mahi which he enjoyed. The moist coconut cake for dessert was good but not great. We really enjoyed the signature cocktails. I am not sure what the hype about being in a tree house is about because we did not get that vibe at all. I could hear the music from my seat (60's -70's quiet music) but my friend could not and while the musician was very good I had hoped for more Caribbean flair but that was perhaps just luck of the draw. Overall we enjoyed the meal but it was not our favorite spot.
