“Very Nice Family Style Place”

We stopped in for lunch, very friendly service and really good home cooked food. Very reasonably priced. Nice and clean place. The fish fry was excellent.

“Good Food For a Good Price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

Enjoyed a oyster dinner with a salad and a cup of clam chowder. The server was pleasant and took our order promptly. The oysters were fresh and delicious. I had the same dinner at Alioto's at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco one week ago. It cost twice what the dinner at the Blue Whale cost. The oysters were small and not fresh. The Blue Whale dinner was at least 300% better than what world famous Alioto's provided. The Blue Whale is not a fancy place. Just a clean place with good service, good food and reasonable prices.

“Great breakfast”

Very generous portions for the price. Had sausage omelet with two wonderful pancakes which was plenty for my wife and I to share.

“There are better choices”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

Eight of us had dinner and half were unhappy. The happy ones had the chicken or scallop fettuccine, one steak fingers (not that I call battered, fried meat "food") and one of the halibut fish and chips. The other halibut order, both over cooked steaks and a terrible french dip were unhappy. The clam chowder and salads were good. The bread was served w/out plates to eat off of. The service was terribly slow because only one poor woman was waiting all the tables, seating all customers and running the cash register for the whole restaurant. They do not have a liquor license if that is important to you. The pies looked good. But our advice would be Drift Inn or Ona so far.
