“Outstanding Service, Rooms, Food and Location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2011

Everytime I stay at the beautiful Adobe Resort I receive the best service from the ladies at the front desk and if the Manager is in she always greats me by name. The ladies always get me checked in fast, help me with information about the area . I pick the Adobe for their delicious food and professional service. The rooms have always been clean and the beds comfortable. The ocean is right out the front door so on a stormy night it is a little noisy, but isn't that why we stay at the Coast? I am looking forward to staying at the Adobe next month on my way to Lincoln City.

Awesome view, dinner was scrumptious However, I awoke eight times in the night half awake thinking I was sleeping on top of the box spring. We stayed in the North Wing- the pet wing. Wondering of the main resort rooms are better. Also, the breakfast was terrible. We had to have brunch in Newport to get the taste out of our mouths- very plastic tasting and the hashbrowns were like leather (obviously cheap, old and frozen)

We are from out of town ((southern Idaho) Wehad a recommendation for the Adobe from an acquaintance. They said the Oregon coast was a must see. Well the view is amazing but the staff and the prices need an adjustment. You would think when a room can cost $300 or more you would have a clean room and a friendly upbeat staff but instead you get people that don't have the time of day for you. The wait staff were to busy talking to each other or on the phone to check us in. We went in to the gift shop walked around and came back out to find we still waited 10 minutes.... keep in mind we were the only ones in the lobby. Finally after check-in for our suite we arrive to our room to find the cleanliness was less than desirable. After calling down to the front to ask for a different suite or at least a touch up from the maid our less than friendly manager snapped at us and stated everything was cleaned to there standards. After what seemed to be an endless battle with the manager we were moved to a room that had indeed been cleaned. After enduring the hefty prices in the restaurant for food that did not impress, we decided that we rather support a local restaurant or buy food from the grocery store than spend another dollar at the resort. So needless to say a 3 day weekend with not so great food + snappy management +huge prices= $900

We were traveling from San Fran to the tip of Washington to complete our road trip along the entire coast line fro Mexico to Washington.
We stopped into the Adobe and what a pleasant surprise.
Our room was right off the water on the upper level, you could hear the waves all night. Very relaxiing.
Resort is old, but well maintained, it kinda gave you a feel for the past. Price could not be beat, we paid less than what we did at a Holiday Inn Express the night before.
Get out of your room and walk the shoreline especially at dusk.

Our upstairs room in one of the older sections had the best view in the place, according to the desk clerk. The whole resort is right on the water, just steps from the waves. Our room was older, but of a decent size with king bed, and table and chairs. It also had a kitchenette with stove, fridge and microwave. A balcony overlooked the water. There is a gas-fired heater, rather than central heating or AC/heat unit. We chose the plan that included dinner and breakfast with the room rate, which saved having to go back into town to look for a restaurant. The food was fine, especially the breakfast. The only hiccup was that Internet was supposed to be included in all the rooms, but we finally learned that our old wing, for some reason, had never been connected. Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things, but you might want to get a room in another section if that is important to you. We would definitely stay again.

The resort is a beautiful refreshing getaway and guest are treated like family from the moment you walk in the front lobby. I choose to stay at the Adobe because of quality of their rooms, they are always very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The whole resort is so unique, from the gift shop to the lounge and dinning room you are sure to be entertained. Front desk staff and manager was very helpful with ideas of things to do while in Yachats. I will be back again and again.

We've stayed at the Adobe a number of times over a twenty year period. We return because the location is excellent - a very scenic part of the Oregon coast, and because this one of the few hotels on the central coast that has oceanfront rooms with fireplaces. Can't beat that combo for romantic getaways and it's amazing that more places don't offer it. The Adobe is not a fancy resort, but the rooms are clean, well appointed and in excellent condition.

We've also dined at the hotel restaurant several times - Sunday brunch with oceanfront seating is popular for locals and visitors alike - but in the past have not been impressed with the food. This last visit, however, was a very pleasant surprise. They've got a new (to us anyway) chef, and he really knows what he's doing. We went to the bar (also an awesome oceanfront view), not expecting to have dinner, but ended up having a meal of appetizers, all of which were outstanding. It was the weekend of the annual Yachats Mushroom Festival, so we have Chantrelle Mushroom soup and beer battered Portobello steak fries, then tried the baked artichoke and spinach parmesan casserole and an Oregon bay shrimp cocktail. All accompanied by Sagelands Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla, and a colorful sunset over the ocean right out the window. A memorable evening.

Already looking forward to our next visit.
