“very good food”

The Adobe was a last minute pick - and there weren't many rooms to choose from. So the room was average - although clean, and with a fireplace. But the staff and area surrounding were very nice. The restaurant which was very busy - also had a very good seafood fettucine. The clam chowder was just fair.

I came here with my wife for our anniversary over Labor Day weekend(September 1st and 2nd) and loved it. I've wanted to come here for a long time and I'm glad we did. We had a very comfortable king bedded room on the ground floor so we could walk out the sliding door onto the grass from where we could see the whales spouting. We also had an easy chair which was great for reading as well as a microwave and fridge.(That came in handy on the second night when we had dinner in the room)The beach is small but if you don't need a beach, this is a great spot. It's quiet rocky so the waves are spectacular. The Pacific Coast Trail goes right by the back entrance so there are always people going by.(at least on nice holiday weekends)
Also, they have a separate wing that's pet friendly and it's only $10 per night for the pet and there didn't seem to be a size restriction.
The only negative I can think of is when a neighbor ran his jacuzzi it was so loud we couldn't hear our TV and had to speak loudly just to hear ourselves.

Room Tip: If you're going to go to the coast, get a room with an ocean view, otherwise why bother going?

We stay at the adobe several times a year with our two dogs. The rooms are large and include a tiny kitchen and a small table with chairs. Large glass sliding doors lead to a full balcony with a splendid view of the ocean. The Inn is located on a cliff, and there is a walking trail that goes along the cliff and ends at a long stretch of sand beach. Our Golden Retrievers join me in giving the Adobe two thumbs up!

Room Tip: Request an ocean view room.

I have stayed at the Adobe each summer for the past 35 years. Yes, the property is not the fanciest, but the location makes all the difference. The pet rooms have balconies, which are great for watching the ocean, which is a stone's throw away. I recently stayed in the non-pet section. Our first night we had a smaller room with two queens. We requested a larger ocean view room and the staff really worked to accommodate us. The next room was much larger. Even though there was not a balcony, we opened our window to see and hear the waves crashing. We were lucky enough to see whales also. There are a few resident whales that hang out on the coast instead of migrating farther north. The beds were comfortable, but the chairs need replacing. The Adobe is set back off the highway, with an expansive lawn in front.
If you want to enjoy a quieter location on the Oregon coast, stay here.

Room Tip: If you stay in the pet section and can walk stairs, stay on the second floor.

I went here with my boyfriend and his parents from Oklahoma. They took an ocean view room (it was hard to convince them to spend the extra $30, but then they watched the sunset over the ocean for the first time in their lives and felt it worth it.) Their room was around $100 in August (high season.) Ours was on the "hill side" of the hotel (I understand that they wouldn't call that the "parking lot" side, but that's what it is.) We get to go to the coast frequently and are able bodied to it was easy to just go outside and see the ocean, so saving some money was fine.

Yes, when you first go in the rooms there's a big of a smell, but that happens when a building is about 100 feet from the ocean! It's damp, folks! We opened the window, and the room was fine in about 10 minutes. VERY clean rooms. The hotel is a little dated, but they have kept up their bathrooms, couches, and so on, and the cleanliness makes it all fine. We used the wifi with no problem. No fancy-new-flat-screen TVs, but the units worked fine, and you're at the coast...don't watch TV!

I was impressed by the fitness room--a few aerobic options, and good weight sets/machines.

Considering that this place was a bit cheaper than other options AND we were able to get two rooms for a weekend in August when we called just one night ahead, I thought Adobe was great.

Remember that this part of the coast is more rocky, not big sandy beaches. Have fun with tide pools!

Room Tip: The rooms without the ocean view are facing east, looking out over a huge parking lot with really no...

This place would hardly be classified as a resort of any type. Perhaps it would have been in the 70's. It does have a pool and on-site restaurant. We stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms with our dog. The room was very large and had a view of the ocean, but it smelled like urine with a very strong cleaning agent odor and the entire wing was dingy and gloomy. We had to keep the sliding glass door open almost all night to get rid of most of the cleaning agent odor. The urine smell never went away. They clearly don't know how to properly clean carpets that have had pet accidents; it's not that difficult! Since we had to pay extra for our dog, which was completely expected, it is likewise equally expected and reasonable that the property owners train their staff to adequately clean the carpets and provide a cleaning agent that doesn't smell horrible. Or pull the carpets up and just put throw rugs down that can be laundered.

The towels are thin and rough and the sheets felt like they were at least 10 years old (soft and thin!). Given the reviews of the non-pet rooms, they must take the towels and sheets that they don't want in the "better" rooms and use them in the pet-friendly rooms! Hardly the way to treat guests who pay the same rate plus extra for their pet.

Room 230 was our designated assignment.Nice,roomy,balcony.Many years past we had stayed in an oceanview room also on the 2nd.floor,no balcony, just a window, but okay. You can count on cleaniness, decent food, great view. However, there is no one to help you with your bags.Decor is outdated but is overridden by the beauty of nature outside.Definately not the Ritz, but a comfy simple respite.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor have access to outside with chairs.Corner suites have balconies.
