“Truly The Landmark of the Oregon Coast”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

This hotel is a must see, even if not planning on staying for the night. It is situated on an amazing piece of land and located in the perfect nook that allows travelers to stop and admire the beautiful coastal town of Yachats, OR. The facilities and grounds are maintained well and many of the staff have worked there for years, at least that's the sense I got by interacting with them.

There are many really cool parts of the hotel/resort experience; they have the pool and hot tubs, sauna, etc. Their giftshop is probably the best on the Central Coast as well. But the restaurant, for example is very unique in that its views of the mighty Pacific are truly inspiring and encapsulating. There is also an awesome loft above the sports bar that has a sort of clubhouse feel to it, really cool!

Perhaps one of the best, if the the trademark of the Adobe, would be the amazing piece of land it sits on. The resort management have consistently kept the land in very good shape and the transition from the rich, green lawn to the sand jagged volcanic rock structures is almost unbelieveable in terms of its presentation. The area is illuminated at night and there are benches and the like to sit and appreciate the experience. Their is a well manicured trail (804) that runs along the backside of the resort and makes for a perfect morning jog or evening stroll, especially around dusk or dawn when all the colors, sounds, and smells are in their awakening or pre-noctural states. In closing, it is difficulkt to maintain a pristine resort because the weather takes it toll on coastal properties, especially in Oregon, but the Adobe maintains its charm and most importantly has a very unique and welcome appeal.

Room Tip: The oceanviews rooms are usually more expensive, but worth it, that is if you are into crashing wave...

We don't get a lot of vacation time but when we do the first place we think of is the Adobe on the Oregon Coast. We have stayed there more times than I can count and every time has been excellent. We are always watching our waistlines so we almost always do the salad bar which is great for the price. Super Rave for the management who did not charge us for a night we booked but could not stay because our car broke down (was breaking down) and we had to bolt back to Seattle immediately. Because we didn't give 24 hours notice I expected to be charged but they didn't even mention it. Planning a vacation there very soon..as soon as we can get some time off work. Best Hotel Ever!! Room Tip: Top floor ocean view..and if you can afford it one of the suites ..they are fantastic. With Kitchen...

We love the Adobe Resort! Its the perfect place for location to the town and the beach. We love the pathway for walking and sight seeing and you have access to a great view. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is a bit overpriced in my opinion, but its good. We will keep coming back without doubt!

Room Tip: Ocean views without doubt. If its romance you want, get a room with the hot tub in the window and en...

A little mixed on this one, we have had some very nice stays and a few not so great. We have had nice clean rooms, and a couple not so pleasant. Even with the restaurant the same thing, some good meals and some not.
We have avoided it over the last few months due to a perfect storm consisting of reservation issues, room, issues and a very mediocre meal.
That being said when back in Yachats area we may stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a room on the south side near the center of the building for the best night views of the ocean w...

We visited the Adobe (again) for two days over New Year's Eve and had the usual wonderful time that we always do. We were whale watching on our way down the coast from Florence which is a pretty spectacular stretch by itself. The Adobe sits perched on the cliff with a spectacular view of waves crashing over rocks. The beds are comfortable & priced well. Room was clean with a microwave & small frig for $103. It accesses a trail which you can follow along the ocean cliff for miles. If your wise, you'll stay off the beach as the surf sends up "sneaker waves" which take tourists occasionally. You may see whales at the right time and will see sea lions and sea birds feeding. A beautiful hike. The panoramic views from the dining room were also spectacular and there is a non migrating pod of whales which you may spot while eating. Bring binoculars! Afterward, relax in the indoor pool, hot tub & sauna. Nice lounge with a view & less expensive lounge menu. Great music New Year's Eve. The food at The Adobe is great. Don't miss the clam chowder and if you're there during crab season......yummy! Fantastic stay.

Room Tip: There's an older & a newer wing plus suites all are clean and comfortable with no bad views...

We were shocked at how big and affordable our 2 bedroom suite was. While the entire property is a bit older and some parts might be in need of some updating, you really can't beat the friendly customer service, location, and amenities available at the resort.

The good:
Room was huge and had a nice view.
Full kitchen with enough dishes to cook up a gourmet meal if you wanted to.
Lots of windows let in a lot of light.
Nice deck with ocean view.
2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, all amenities you'd expect, including large tub/shower.
Friendly staff at the desk.
Gift shop, restaurant and lounge, on site, so you don't have to venture out if weather is bad.
The not so good:
Our room smelled of cleaning chemicals when we entered and had to be aired out for a while.
Vending machines needed to be restocked. Bottled water and soda were gone.

Overall, the stay was good and aside from the minor issues, we had a great time. We will definitely return.

We were a drop in, the long driveway, huge property and nice entrance told me it was going to be a lot of $$. Ha, around 115 with tax and we had a nice view. The area from the hotel to the sea is just a delight, and huge. The restaurant was excellent. We would com back here in a minute. The check in staff were very pleasant, and our room was as nice as i could ever ask for.

Room Tip: 159 was our choice.
