We love our road trips but have never stayed in a 'motel' setup since we have kids and always consider safety to be a priority. Deane's was a choice because it ranked high here a TripAdvisor for the budget we had, so I called and booked a room. The person who helped us make our reservation was very nice, I think Annika was her name. Helped me choose a good room with that was just nice for our needs and when we arrived, the owner i think she was Dean's wife, even opened and warmed up two rooms so we could see what we were getting and make a choice.

Rooms were clean, smelled nice and my family loved it. I personally love midcentury, retro looks so i got a kick out of the bubble glass bathroom that had natural light in the day filter in.

For 92.40, it exceeded our expectations. There was a microwave, access to the back where the ocean is and had the weather been nicer, we would've stayed there longer.

Room Tip: Be sure of what you want and if available, the personal service from the owners who live on site wil...

My daughters and I enjoyed our stay at Deane's Oceanfront lodge because of the comfortable beds, the nicest people who do a great job of cleaning the rooms daily. And I mean it's, CLEAN, not rushed. The continental breakfast was great, just enough to start out your day. The back of the motel was convenient to watch your kids, and down the stairs to the beach was just perfect. Lots of heart was put into their customer service skills, as well as the hard work they put into cleaning their, characterized rooms. Thanks again!

Room Tip: The bath was comfortable, but some do not include a bathtub. Ask for the bathtub room if you like b...

Although it's quite old they've updated enough stuff to make this motel nice and comfortable. The bed was very comfy and the sheets and blankets were in good shape and good quality. We didn't take a pet, but we sure saw a lot of guests who had their's. There was a little electric fireplace in the room that was a little hokey (no substitute for a real fire), but was still kind of cute. We turned it on and pretended we had a fireplace.
Although this place is oceanfront, you're actually quite a long way from the ocean. There's a large yard that was a little soggy from recent rain, with several benches at the edge of the cliff down to the ocean. These were nice to sit at and sip a glass of wine while waiting for the sunset. There's actually a stone-filled raised walk to get from the motel to the cliff and the stairs down to the beach, but they made a mistake and filled the walkway with pea gravel which is looser than beach sand when you walk on it. They should have used crushed rock and it would have packed down nicer. Our room, #2, didn't have much of a view as it was on the end and the ocean was obscured by the neighboring bushes to the south as well as the top of their septic sand filter.
The nice young girl in the office gave us some wine glasses to use, which was nice, but they were champagne flutes. I didn't complain, but I think they'd be better off just offering a simple multipurpose glass more suitable for either red or white wine (we had red). Still, the flutes were fine and much better than a plastic cup.
In the morning they offer coffee, tea, and some doughnuts. A little orange juice would have been a nice addition and wouldn't cost much.
Overall, however, we really liked this place and will likely stay again.

Room Tip: Our room, #2, didn't have much of a view as it was near the south end and the ocean was obscured...

Despite being right on the highway, it was quiet. The room is nice, and you have a small view of the beach, separated from the motel by a large grassy area. We were greeted by a cherry young girl that was accommodating and knowledgeable. We had brought a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers and she provided us with some small plates, proper wine glasses, a cutting board and a knife for the cheese. We initially couldn't get hooked onto the internet, but when we informed them, they had it taken care of of within half an hour. There was also an annoying sensor that was going off every 20 minutes or so outside our room, which the staff also took care of. The bed was comfortable, although the sheets aren't fitted. The towels are small. For the price, a great deal.

Room Tip: WE stayed in Room 4, which has probably the "best" view.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Dean's. It is one of the older motel on the ocean front near Yahatz, but the new owners have done a lot of work to keep the original 1940's style while making it a comfortable and clean stay for the whole family. The motel is small, quaint, and very cute. There a couple of nice looking cabins for rent as well though we did not stay in them. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We travel to the Oregon Coast every year and have "done it all", the the staff had some great suggestions of new things for us to see and get us out of the rain a little bit. We appreciate all of their hard work and had an outstanding time!

My wife and I, as well as our 2 dogs stayed at Deane's 2 nights (March 9 & 10), and, as with our previous stays there, we found the accommodations to be all that we had hoped for. The location is excellent; right on the ocean 3 miles north of Yachats, Oregon. The owners are beyond friendly; we now consider them our personal friends. We travel with 2 dogs, and they love pets as we do. The rooms are comfortable, quiet (except for ocean waves), and although this place is over 60 years old, everthing has been remodeled recently, and not a single light bulb (or anything else) malfunctioned. We have stayed here multiple times, and we will do so again.

We had the best time at your property! You have the friendliest staff. We highly recommend your hotel. We can hardly wait for our next visit. Your staff was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions on places to eat and visit. Our sons favorite was your suggestion for seeing the seals! Thanks for everything and next time we might try one of the homes you have as rentals.
