We have stayed at the Overleaf twice, two nights in August, 2006 and two nights in June, 2007 and were very happy both times. The view can't be beat and in 2006 we were able to see a gray whale swim up and down the coast right in front of the hotel, very close in. The ocean crashes dramatically into the rocky beach and it is mesmerizing to watch. Pretty good tide-pooling on the rocks after high tide. Great path for walking north a ways. Breakfast was great all four mornings, with delicious quiche, very fresh and yummy quick breads, fruit, great coffee and a nice area in the lobby to enjoy it. Rooms all face the ocean and we like staying on the second or third level for a better view. Balcony is a great place to watch the waves crash in while sipping wine. Many rooms have fireplaces, which is nice on cool evenings. In-room coffee is their own blend and is delicious. Microwave and fridge are convenient also. Love the bathroom decorations with the sea-inspired tiles. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Service was good, friendly but not intrusive. Yachats is a cute little town along the central coast and the Overleaf makes a great base to stay while exploring the beautiful Oregon coast. Would love to come for a big winter storm, hopefully, some day.
