Recently, stayed for our second time. The Overleaf is a wonderful place to stay. Great views full of wave action and lots of rocks to hike over.
I made a mistake on my reservation, which could of been a disaster. But the reservationist made it work out, no extra charge. We also left some items and they mailed them to us at our request and only charged for postage.
I recommend you try the spa and indulge in a massage.
Clean and well maintained property. Nice breakfast, too.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a great view

This stop was part of a pacific coast road trip and we wanted a place in central area of the state having started our adventure up along the Columbia River. So we ended up in Yachats since we chose the Overleaf based the reviews on TripAdvisor as we had never been to Oregon - which we were really pleased with our selection & the town.

The facility is on the north end of town off 101 and down a little ways to the coast. The lodge lobby was quite nice & spacious with a sitting area in from of the fireplace, sitting area looking out on the ocean, dining area for breakfast and a gift shop area with clothing keepsakes, snacks traveling essentials, etc.

The spa area is on the third floor above the lobby. The modest workout facility is also in that same area which is due for updated equipment. There is also a complementary & clean washer and dryer which we used. The facility is not new but the rooms have been updated and well taken care in a coastal environment.

We stayed in one of the Sunset Suites on the 3rd floor for two nights to enjoy the amenities and see the area. Our room was very spacious with a great view and a fireplace. Learned after check-in that this room did not have a/c which we typically rely on cause nighttime air is sometimes problematic - but we chanced it & the ocean air worked out fine.

The folks at the hotel were great. They were very friendly, helpful and accommodating - very customer centric. Utilized private message and was impressed with technicians knowledge. The included breakfast was very good each morning.

Enjoyed our stay and will return someday and also recommend to others looking for a delightful relaxing place to enjoy the central Oregon coast.

Room Tip: Suggest using their website and calling ahead to understand your options - we stayed on the portion or wing closest to the ocean and really enjoyed our choice.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other Trip Advisor members. We are happy to know that you so thoroughly enjoyed the lodge, staff, breakfast and amenities. We are glad to read that you were very happy with your choice to stay in one of our Sunset Suites. These suites feature a bedroom with a king sized bed, a kitchenette, two bathrooms, fireplace, and living area. The suites on the upper floors also have a Jacuzzi with a stunning ocean view. As you mentioned in your room tips, it is a great idea to visit our website where you are able to do a virtual tour of our rooms and facility. We appreciate your recommendation and we look forward to seeing you on a return visit to the Oregon coast.

The view is sublime. The hotel itself is clean, comfy, and has a feel that makes you want to just stay there, but you can't do that since there is so much to do outside!

Staff was pleasant and helpful. No one was rude or unpleasant.

We did not use the spa facilities, but wandering through it, we could tell it would have been a great experience as well. Go when they have specials on the spa as it is high priced.

Lobby has a nice wood burning stone fireplace they keep going throughout the day (fall visit). Nice decor that makes it feel like you can linger there.

The "continental" breakfast is better than most, and seems expanded to add a few extras, even occasionally serving meat so I think there would be no need to go out for breakfast. They even have a nice seating area for it that feels more like a cafe than a cafeteria or break room like so many other hotels.

There is a library and fitness room. The library seemed like a nice place to "disappear" and relax, but it has no view so we didn't bother with hanging out there. Did not bother to look at the fitness area since we were already getting a workout on the beach and in town.

Location is amazing. Of the many rocky beach areas along the coastline in Yachats and Cape Perpetua, Overleaf is located in one of the best since it's an easy walk the trail south to town or if you walk north you wind up at a miles long sandy beach in 10 minutes time.

The only complaint I have, and it's minor, is that our TV wasn't hooked up correctly to watch DVD's. The front desk had the maintenance guy on top of it within minutes though, and he did think he had it fixed. He had the picture fixed but did not check the sound. I had to rewire things after he left to get sound. No biggie really.

Room Tip: I would suggest top floor since you won't have guests over you making noise, and the views of the waves hitting the rocks are perfect from the above angle. Also there is a popular trail that skirts the ocean in front of your view so we felt we had more privacy being up higher. The hotel is only 3 stories, so it's not like you're too far above the wave action. You still feel like you're right next to the water.

Every time we visit the Overleaf it feels like coming home. The staff are very friendly and like family. The room is awesome with ocean view. Always clean and welcoming. We always feel safe and comfy. To be able to sit in a hot tub and watch the waves crash onto the rocks is fantastic.

Room Tip: I won't tell you about my favorite room because it is so special...I don't want to share! But every room is special there.

I have visited Yachats before but this was my first time at the Overleaf Lodge and Spa. I spent the night here with my sister, a Yachats resident. We celebrated my 50th birthday. The spa experience was fabulous and so was our room. We enjoyed facials and massages and the ocean view hot-tub. We had an ocean view room with a king size bed and al the bells and whistles. The atmosphere was very relaxing and calm. I would recommend the Overleaf to anyone. The staff was friendly and helpful. Especially nice touch are the Aveda products used in the Spa and found in the guest rooms.10/10
