“Great Place”
Reviewed 29 August 2014

Yachats is a lovely friendly town and Overleaf Lodge and Spa is the place to stay. The rooms were great and I doubt there are any bad rooms. I had a wonderful treatment in their spa-one of the best I have ever had. And even if you don't use the spa they have 2 large hot tubs that overlook the ocean and can be used by all guests. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There is a library on the second floor and the spa is on the third floor. They have 2 washers and dryers that guests may use for free-an added bonus.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor and it was great.

Our second stay at the Overleaf was just as positively memorable as our first. The Lodge is right on the ocean rocks for spectacular views and ocean action. The rooms are well appointed and maintained, the property is beautifully landscaped, and you'll enjoy the best expanded continental breakfast available.

Room Tip: All rooms have a spectacular view. However, not all have decks or patios. A few have a full kitchen...

We enjoyed 2 wonderful days here. Perfect location. We were on the third floor which we loved for the view out to the ocean, plus the added benefit of the spa being just down the way. The room is quite spacious with a small kitchenette (frig, micro and sink) and coffee making supplies. The bath is a good size with the sink area separate. Don't know if all rooms have the same basic set-up but we were in a king inglenook. Loved that we could open the window over the window seat area and just listen to the sound of the waves. The overall room condition is very good but you can see that the carpet may be in need of replacement but all in all, we were happy. A nice breakfast in the morning and good coffee and juices. We also were happy that John (who does evening nature walks along the 804 Trail) was doing a walk on our last evening. John is a wealth of knowledge of history and plants and animals...and such an engaging person. We loved this and are very pleased that Overleaf has set this up. The spa area for the hot tubs are oceanfront viewing plus there are also steam rooms on the men's and women's sides. The area is kept up impeccably and we were quite impressed. We made a point of doing this both evenings. Of course there are also massages, etc. available but we didn't do any so can't comment on that. We would definitely stay here again. Also, check out the botanical garden and hike in the forest across the way.

Room Tip: We really like the third floor king inglenook room.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and some great photos at the Overleaf Lodge & Spa. We are glad to know how much you enjoyed the nature walk with John. It’s always fun to take an educational stroll with a naturalist, and the historic 804 Trail provides abundant learning material. Another nearby hike is the relatively new Ya’Xaik Trail, which will lead hikers through gorgeous forest and the public footpath of Gerdemann Botanical Preserve. We are very happy that you were able to utilize our beautiful spa facilities during your stay. On your next visit, our spa might tempt you into trying any one of an enticing array of massages, facials and body treatments.

I felt compelled to write a review on the Overleaf Lodge after completing a recent stay there. The property has so many wonderful aspects that it is hard to know where to begin, It is located Oceanside off of HWY 101, but is much different from other hotel/resorts in that it is literally nestled in a wonderfully rich green wooded area, A short but pretty and winding drive takes you to the property which is a fantastic sight. The décor is very new age yet classy and modern. The hotel is made for healing as the colors, setting, and spa complete with an amazing soaking tub ocean-side, are all specifically designed to be conducive to enriching the lighter side of life, and of course the beauty of the Oregon Coast. The resort rests at the end of the forest where the ocean waves crash into the coastal lava rocks just feet from an enchanting hotel garden that is large enough to escape in, if only with the mind. The 804 coastal trail subtly passes through the backside of the garden and of course the sunsets are very romantic allowing the senses to discover the magic of Northwest appeal. I recommend a third floor room as it is the top floor and on the same level as the spa/soaking tub. The buffet breakfast is very healthy yet delicious and the lounge is just plain cozy, especially with a warm fireplace after a misty coastal walk. There is also a guided hike complete with a bonfire and smores if interested. As of now, this is my new favorite place along the Central Oregon Coast!

Room Tip: Third floor rooms with ocean view will absolutely take your breath away!

We were traveling and decide to stay the night. Overleaf was recommended by a local waitress. The rooms were large with everything and what a view! We were able to walk on the beach walk and ate dinner three blocks away. Other than not having A/C, which ment leaving the window open all night, it was great. Great breakfast with whole made granola.

This is the fourth time we stayed here with my wife to get away from our teenage kids for the weekend and its rejuvinating i have to admit. I heard lots of people complain about the rates, but lets just be realistic here for a moment. If is too expensive for you, why dont you stay at Motel 6, and listen to the semi trucks blowing by all night, have a view of a 7-11 and train tracks and take a shower with a soap what they give out to the homeless for free. OR...Overleaf Lodge & Spa. I pay for a pleasent, top quality experience any day. You want to enjoy your view, food and sleep??? One place, Overleaf in Yachats, Oregon. We come down here for hiking, whale watching, ocean sunset dinner, or sit in their highest quality spa and watch the sunset from there. Its worth the trip any day. Thanks, i hope it helps.

We are delighted to provide you and your wife with a rejuvenating, weekend escape. It sounds like you fully engage with everything the Overleaf Lodge and Yachats area has to offer. The soaking tubs in our spa provide a luxurious vantage point for sunset viewing and whale watching, too! The Yachats area is sure to enchant any nature enthusiast with hikes through lush rain forest, breathtaking ocean views, tide- pooling, beach-combing or just peaceful hours of taking in the natural beauty we are surrounded by. We appreciate your earnest review and look forward to hosting you for many more years to come.

My hubby and I stayed here 8 years ago and always wanted to return. This time we were lucky to get a top floor room with a fabulous balcony which had views on 3 sides including of course the magnificent view of the ocean and the waves crashing on the rocks below. The hotel is just wonderful with friendly reception staff, a lovely breakfast and great rooms. You can walk into Yachats along the coastal path for dinner (about a mile). Go and stay here, you'll love it.
