“Our favorite hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2009

We have stayed here three times now. The first was 2 years ago, and it was a lucky find. We didn't have reservations anywhere, and just happened on the Overleaf. It was a little more expensive than we usually go, but it was SO worth it! Our room had an amazing view of the rocky shoreline, and a little balcony. We loved it so much that we booked our honeymoon there about a year later.

We stayed for five nights for our honeymoon. We'd booked a "regular" room for three nights, and a room with an inroom jacuzzi for the last two. When we checked in, the clerk at the desk did some looking and offered to upgrade us to the jacuzzi room for all of the nights for the same price we'd been quoted for the regular room!! Wow. What a wonderful surprise and gift. We enjoyed the jacuzzi every night, and it was a truly wonderful week! The staff brought flowers and a card to us as congratulations for our wedding, etc. (We also had massages at the spa. It was nice for a one time deal, but we won't book again - it wasn't quite what we had wanted.)

We just went back on Oct. 31 for our 1 year anniversary. We stayed just one night because we actually have moved very close now! We booked the same jacuzzi room, and found everything just as wonderful as before. The staff brought us flowers again, and we enjoyed everything!

The staff has always been very friendly - all of them - clerks, maids, maintenance, etc. The rooms are wonderful - very clean and all have a wonderful view of the 804 trail and the ocean. We will definitely stay here again for special occasions, and have recommended this many times to friends! We love it.

Our recent girl's trip to Oregon brought us to the Overleaf Lodge in Yachats. We were impressed with the location and the amenities of the hotel. Each room had a small refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave and bathrobes for two. The room area is large--each room had two double beds. Our rooms were adjoining which was a big plus for us. Wonderful ocean views. Excellent breakfast that is different each morning. There are no complaints until the last day when our room did not receive any housekeeping. The beds weren't made, garbage not picked up, and no clean towels or washclothes. In fact, I personnally went to the front desk to retrieve clean bath linens and to request to have the dirty linens picked up. The evening desk employee was very apologetic--the next morning day clerk wasn't so nice. She did give a 5% discount after I requested some sort of discount (a whopping $6 and change), but became very defensive when I asked the manager to email me at home. I never did hear from the manager. At these prices and with the atmosphere they attempt to exude, I really expected better from them.

Very clean, nicely decorated, great view from rooms. We stayed 2 nights in Restless Waters room 205, which had a jacuzzi with a view during our Oregon coast trip. If you want to play among the rocks and in the tide pools, and check out the starfish and colorful anemone, you don't have to leave the place. However, you can take side trips to nearby areas such as Newport to see the aquarium, etc. They offer full breakfast in their breakfast area. Wish they also had a restaurant that served dinner in the lodge, but Adobe restaurant is very close by. If you are in the area, this is the place to stay. We would go back again, if it wasn't so far away!!

This was all the reviews said...plus or minus a bit. Loved the ocean front balcony! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves...priceless. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Thought the location on the coast was perfect for us. Not real touristy. Resturants surrounding not fancy but good. Only real complaint was they did not have the nice "heavenly beds" down comforters and such. Made it feel a bit dated, which initally was a disappointment, but got over it once we soaked up the view! Breakfast was great!

We stayed at the Overleaf Lodge for 3 days...we had the one of the corner Restless Waters suites with a balcony and jacuzzi. The room decor is a bit dated, but we didn't care because we had a spectacular view. For someone from St. Louis, falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean is priceless. The breakfast was a nice bonus - very nice selection including a delicious new main course every day. the Oregon coast is beautiful, but I have to agree with locals that Yachats south is just gorgeous! Stay here and explore the area very easily...we saw whales and a bear in the same day.

This lodge has excellent accommodations and one of the BEST locations on the West Coast!! The rooms have everything you should need (or want) and the small kitchen area is a nice touch...they are very comfortable...everything seemed to work very well.

The location is unbelievable and the small balcony and large windows give you everything you need to enjoy the scenery. Walks on / around the beaches, rocks and tidal pools are a MUST...sitting on the balcony and listening to the tide come in at night is a close second. The breakfast menu was different and food was very good.

When we visited, there weren't many young families at the lodge but I think it would be a very good place for children (maybe the price has something to do with it). Also, the town of Yachats is small but it has some art shops and you have the beaches and cliffs to keep you entertained!

The Yachats River House is a very good restaurant and I suggest a bottle of wine and sandwiches on a beach for lunch!
