Cape Perpetua Scenic Area

This is a very scenic scenic point on the drive up or down the west coast. Make sure to stop and hike down to the rock fissures. If you catch it just right you can see rainbows that are created from the spray. We were lucky enough to catch a double rainbow that looked like it wrapped around us (no, really). If you like Point Lobos, you will love Cape Perpetua. We have been there many times - summer and winter and will always stop by when in the area. Photographers heaven.

It was very windy when we were there. That did not diminish the breath taking vistas. The cape was a great spot for whale watching with binoc's. The trails were maintained very well and the bathrooms were very clean. We had a great time just sitting on a bench soaking up all mother nature had to offer. A MUST SEE!

We went early in the overcast and later in the sunshine; if you miss this view and the fresh air and the forest beauty, you lose. Words won't do the experience justice; just go and don't rush. The information center matches some of the best we've Benin to in national parks.

You drive up a steep but well cared for paved road to the highest point on the Oregon Coast at 803 feet. The view is amazing, the only facilities are the bathrooms. There are tables for picnics.

This is a place we take all our visitors. The drive up the mountain is easy with ample parking at the top. The views of the ocean and coastline are breathtaking. Every phase of weather has it's own unique beauty. Make sure you bring binoculars. There are walking trails that allow views in all directions. Most of the trails are not handicapped friendly. There is a great visitors center just South of the road up the mountain. Trails to the beach take you to tidal pools for hours of exploring. Another great place to visit along the beautiful Oregon Coast.
