“Great experience at the Oregon Coast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2014

Relaxing getaway at the Oregon Coast this past weekend. Drove down to King Estate for wine club pickup then off to Yachats and the Seaquest Inn. We were met by our hosts Sherwood and Stephanie. After a brief tour of the expansive B&B and brisk stroll on nearby beach our friends Gary and Denise joined another couple in the great room for wine and cheese happy hour. Dinner recommendations were discussed and off to The Adobe Retaurant and Resort seven miles north. wonderful array of fresh seafood offerings and the only place in Yachats to offer a filet of beef. After dinner it was back to Sequest for a relaxing, restful sleep on down pillows and cozy down comforters. Fresh coffee available in the butler's pantry help start the morning. It was now time to experience the breakfast part of B&B. What a treat! First course, Strawberry soup with homemade granola, second course Blackforest-stuffed croissant with homemade jam and salsa!
What a restful experience with great food and lively conversation.
A big thank you to Sherwood and Stephanie for making our weekend very special and memorable!

I am long overdue in posting this review, but my wife and I took a romantic trip up the California and Oregon coast with Seaquest Inn B&B as our final destination after the Christmas holiday. We originally planned to stay two nights, but we fell in love with the Inn and especially with Sherwood and Stephanie and stayed through the New Year.

All of the amazing reviews on Sherwood and Stephanie cannot be overstated--they are super fun, their breakfasts are amazing, they take impeccable care of their guests and the property. It was based on the reviews about them that I selected Seaquest, and the reviews were right on point.

We stayed in the upstairs suite, which I believe is called the "Oceanfront Honeymoon Suite". This is a very large suite, and the only suite on the top floor. It's wall-to-wall windows overlooking the ocean, a large living room, and very nice bathroom. It also has a working wood fireplace that Sherwood and Stephanie keep primed and ready to light.

My wife and I peeked into the other rooms, which were all nice and are in the process of being updated with new decor. Our room was definitely the largest, but also most expensive, however, I feel it was well worth the price.

Sherwood and Stephanie have put a LOT of time and energy into cleaning and decorating the Inn, and they put an equal amount of energy into creating a fun, welcoming environment. There is a wine and cheese happy hour every day, and they put together a very festive New Years Eve party with friends in the area who all brought great wine and homemade dishes for all of the guests at the inn. It was a ton of fun.

The inn is located about 8 - 10 mins from Yachats (pronounced Yah-haats), where you'll find some amazing seafood restaurants with fresh crab and local catches. There are some hikes and sites to see in the area, as well, so you can definitely spend a few days without getting bored.

Did I mention the breakfasts? Well, Sherwood and Stephanie out-do themselves every morning with incredible breakfasts that are well thought out, artfully presented, and often a bit decadent.

By the end of our stay, we were reluctant to leave, but left feeling like we had made new friends and certainly some great memories. We would love to come back, and I would stay at any B&B where Sherwood and Stephanie are the hosts!

Room Tip: The Honeymoon Suite is great. You'll get a lot more space and privacy (private entrance). It...

Stayed here in late December right before Christmas with my fiance for three absolutely fantastic and relaxing days and nights. (Sorry it took me so long to write the review, guys!) I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay at the SeaQuest Inn was for both of us. Stephanie and Sherwood instantly felt like cool friends we'd known for years, the Inn was beautiful and comfortable, the surrounding area was paradise, and Yachats (a short drive away) was charming.

We stayed in the Martinique Suite, described on the website as the honeymoon suite. The photos and description on the website don't do the suite justice - I was practically giggling (a super mature, masculine giggle?) when Sherwood was showing the room. It is HUGE, comfortable, relaxing, and most of all - the view! The entire wall is floor to ceiling windows straight out to the sea. Every night we laid in bed and watched the crab boats trawling up and down the coast line.

We are runners, and thanks to advice from Stephanie had several excellent long runs through the forest on Ten Mile Road, just near the Inn - you transition from the coast to deep forest almost immediately, and it would make for an excellent walk if you're not the running type.

There's plenty to do on the Central Oregon coast, and Stephanie and Sherwood (despite being new Oregonians) are experts in all of it. But if you just want to lie around the house, eat an infinite supply of cookies, and stare out at the sea, you won't regret it.

Thanks guys - we can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful, from what we could see. The honeymoon suite is truly fantastic though...

My wife and I had a great trip to the Oregon Coast in February to watch the winter storms and to stay at the SeaQuest Inn. We saw clear skies and also a winter snow storm on the beach, it was terrific. Upon our arrival we were just in time for the wine hour, in which we thoroughly enjoyed conversation with Sherwood. The breakfast he prepared for us the next day was absolutely fantastic with eggs, salmon, cheese baked into a croissant, incredibly delicious and very eye appealing. It was none other than first class. Each of the morning breakfasts served were excellent. We enjoyed walking on the beach every morning and seeing the sea lions in the waves. Low tides were exceptional to walk out to the water line. The area also has many things to see and do. We had Sea food at several of the restaurants in the local area each evening. We hiked several of the local hikes with the Hobbit being the best, a trail that leads you through the rain forest down to a beautiful secluded beach (at least for the winter). The room we stayed in had a fantastic view of the beach and we even left the sliding glass door open at night to hear the crashing waves. We thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Stephanie and Sherwood, with their extra personal touch, while also experiencing the beauty of the ocean and the area.

Room Tip: The Dominica room has excellent views of the ocean.

We already loved the location and the amenities provided by SeaQuest, however, the new Innkeepers have perfected this into a much warmer, welcoming and friendly environment. In addition, the breakfast provided was superb!! We look forward to our next visit.

Stephanie and Sherwood were extra special hosts for Christmas, decked out in their costumes and providing us with extra service! We had their fabulous stuffed croissant breakfast including boiled, sweet grapefruit topped with berry and banana decoration and shaved coconut sprinkled on top. The peaceful setting, combined with their warm and cheerful hospitality, made for a wonderful Christmas jaunt to the coast. They suggested and made reservations for us at the Adobe Restaurant, which was also delightful with their special Christmas buffet dinner. Each visit seems to get even better!
