The pros: Beautiful house, immaculately clean, Billi – the hostess with the mostest, great breakfast every morning, soft, comfortable bed, electric fireplace in each room, lots of pillows, lots of books, magazines and DVD's to borrow, beautiful scenery, friendly and casual…
The cons: ….. um ….. ah ….. ????
Seriously, the Bischwind is a lovely, old house with so much charm, you just want to move in and stay. Unfortunately, we couldn't do that, but the memories of our stay there will last for a long time. Our only regrets were the rainy weather (but Bischwind had that covered with a cozy fire in the sitting room fireplace) and that the lake was being drained during our stay. And, although our gracious hostess offered several local choices for dining, only the Bear Creek Inn down the road is really within convenient driving distance. Then again, after a wonderful breakfast and, with a full kitchen at our disposal, even that really didn't have to be a problem.
If you want a restful long weekend or just need to get away for a few days, I highly recommend the Bischwind B&B, only a few miles off the PA Turnpike, but far away from it all.More
