We received a gift card to stay at The Chancellor's House. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast and were actually a little nervous about the experience. The Innkeepers, Steve and Lynn George are gracious hosts and from the moment that Lynn greeted us at the door, we were made to feel like welcome guests in their home. All three rooms were booked while we were there. I believe one was a same day reservation. The Georges made their role as innkeepers seem easy. Our room was clean and comfortable. The house is lovely. We too enjoyed wine and cheese and friendly conversation with the other guests and the Georges before taking an enjoyable walk down the street to a new and very good restaurant called 10/9. Breakfast was excellent and we left with a copy of Lynn's famous pancake recipe. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night! Bedford is a town worth exploring and the Chancellor's House is the perfect place to stay when you visit.

The hosts (Lynn and Steve George) are what make the experience memorable. They are warm, charming and friendly. The B&B is their home and you are treated always as a special guest. The place is beautiful, clean, quiet. The artwork is superb and sitting in the Library chatting with the hosts and other guests is extraordinary. Breakfast is to die for- especially Lynn's lemon ricotta pancakes! Yoy absolutely cannot go wrong by staying here. I guarantee you will return.. It is a few short blocks from the main small shopping district replete with new restaurants, shops and all sorts of neat attractions. I have stayed here now about 6 times and it is the only lodging in Bedford that I will consider. If they ever decide to retire and sell the place, I don't know what I'll do!!!! Each time I stay here it only gets better!!! .

Tom B

Room Tip: There are three rooms in this B&B. You cannot miss in any room. The Daffodil Room is the most spacioius, but the other two rooms do not lack for space or charm or amenities. All of the rooms are quiet and provide excellent views.

I can only repeat and agree with the other reviews. A premium place with premium hosts and premium breakfast along with some great history and local information. We will be back as it is only an hour and a half from home.

Room Tip: Rooms are big to bigger with lots of light from eight foot windows and beautiful tile bathrooms with plenty of towels. Ours had a large tub as well as a custom tiled, step in shower, 4" sill, with a solid glass door and a great shower head. The bed was a beautiful, solid four poster, most comfortable with plenty of pillows.

My husband and I have made The Chancellor's House our home base for enjoying the pleasures of Bedford since 2008. Always a great time. Innkeepers are friendly and interesting to talk to. Accommodations and appointments are top notch. And you couldn't ask for a more convenient location. Shops, restaurants, museums are just outside the front door. Delicious breakfasts along with welcome wine and cheese too. If you want to treat yourself but don't want to break the bank by staying at the resort, you couldn't pick a better place. Thank you Steve and Lynn!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Daffodil Room the times we stayed and enjoyed it. Steve and Lynn did an outstanding job when they renovated. No corners were cut. All the architectural modifications and bathroom fixtures are top of the line. A total pleasure.

Three old Army friends and their wives who gather annually to tell war stories and catch up with each other spent a wonderful two days at this Bed and Breakfast within walking distance of most of the attractions in Bedford, PA. If you haven't visited Bedford, you should. Its a delight - full of beautiful historical homes and historical sites dating from the French and Indian War. The Chancellor's House is a gem - spotless, beautifully appointed, and Innkeepers Steve and Lynn George are friendly, fascinating, and very knowledgable about the town and the area. Best B&B we've ever stayed in and we've slept in some very good ones over the years. Steve is an architect and Lynn designed the garden and prepared the outstanding breakfasts. They are very, very professional and a delightful couple to boot.

Room Tip: All three rooms are first class. We stayed in the larger Dogwood.
