“Beautiful Drive”

This historic highway has many surprises. Drive from Ligonier to Bedford and you will see the best parts but Irwin to Ligonier is also very pretty. I always enjoy the drive!

“Nice scenic historic road”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 February 2013

We rode this from Somerset to Gettysburg just to see some of this historic road. The road is a pleasant alternative to the PA turnpike passing through some quaint little towns. Great scenic road with very little traffic and good road conditions. Try it you'll be glad you did!

“A pleasant drive.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2012

We take this when not in a hurry and its a nice break from the turnpike. The highway has very nice scenery and murals painted on barns and such that reflect the early days of motor trave. A few antique shops that are fun to stroll through and almost like a visit through a history museum in itself.

“Lincoln Highway”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2012

decided to take Rte 30 Lincoln highway and see the "giants" on way to Gettysburg PA. Saw a local PBS special on the highway, Disappointed that most of the "giants" were nothing more than big metal coin and car outline. Others were simply rusted pickup truck and gas pump sculpture. Most unexpected was the bison field with big and baby bison roaming around.
21/2 story t pot was just a big T pot building, I thought it was operating resturant. But at least we had fun seeing all the things named Lincoln along the way.

“Average views”

This old highway is supposed to be very scenic. We rode on it for about 50 miles. There were other routes we took that had better views, for instance route 522.
