Description: AT OUR TRATTORIA...the food is traditional Italian. There is no menu, the service is casual and the price is fixed. Everyone is seated at the same table where five different courses are served. We begin dinner with an appetizer, followed by the first dish (pasta or risotto), second dish accompanied by a side (pork, beef, chicken, lamb, salmon... it depends on what we feel like cooking that night!!!), then we finish the meal with a delightful cheese plate including pairings, dessert and espresso. The dinner is perfectly complimented by a bottle of your favorite wine, which our guests are encouraged to bring. Although we do not provide the wine, we will happily make suggestions about what to bring to accompany that night's meal. We do not charge a corking fee. Every night is a unique and wonderful trip for the senses, showcasing the different flavors and traditions of Italy. The cost is $55.00 per person with service included. Our menu changes for each dinner, so please let us know when making your reservations if you have any questions or if you have any dietary restrictions that we should be aware of. Due to limited seating, reservations are required and we recommend making your arrangements several weeks in advance. In addition to our weekly Trattoria, LIFeSTYLE is available for your private events and parties any night of the week except Saturdays, which we reserve for our weekly dinner. For parties of ten or more, the price is $55 per person and we can accommodate up to twenty-two people per event. We generally serve a five course, fixed menu dinner as described above, but we are always willing to customize the meal to best suit your special event.

LIFeSTYLE at 108 Pine St in Bedford is something bright, refreshing and special.
My wife and I decided visit Bedfore PA for father’s day weekend. To complete a stop at the resort we read about the LIFeSTYLE Trattoria offering a special Saturday night 5 course set menu feast.. We called ahead and made one of the last seating and were told by chef Stefano to bring a good bottle of wine matching up with chicken. At $50/person this would be a good deal most places, but with the quality of this it seems like a half price special.

By day from Tuesday to Sunday LIFeSTYLE is a Mediterranean store offering artesian ingredients. At 7:30 our tireless hosts Sarah and Stefano Ferrari (from Milan) turn it into a Trattoria with a long table. The night we were there people had come from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg and the DC area. Most couples were staying at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort and were ready for a 4 star dinner.

Following introductions we were off to friendly conversations. Our table neighbors were Hap and Kitty from Harrisburg and delightful companions and conversation flowed as effortlessly as the wine. The arrangement encouraged conversation as everyone uncorking wine. Ours was purchased from across the street at Brian Valley Wine – we stopped for the $3 tasting in the afternoon and that was a great experience in itself.

Our communal feast started off with a zucchini carpaccio appetizer. We immediately knew we were in good hands and that the local, organic farms were delivering the goods. Transparently thin sliced zucchini was topped with wonderful slivers of Parmigiano-Reggiano and the whole lightly moistened by whisper-flavored olive oil. One scanned the shelves for a bottle of this oil it was so light. Portions were just right
The 2nd course was lightly peppered, sweet, summer appropriate melon pasta. Tastes of Venice! No sauce was needed and the melon seemed like squash at times. Again the pasta was so balanced one looked to the selves with a night-time purchase in mind.

The main course accompanied by a simple bread had a Middle East feel with a saffron-lime chicken that boasted free range goodness all through it.This was accompanied by a light salad.
The 4th round was a 3 part cheese course –of mild to strong goat, manchego (sheep) and 6 year old Pecorino Romano adorned by sweet jams, toasted nuts and oil.

The dessert course was strawberries and whipped cream, which matched the meal well, but left we wondering what Tiramisu or Zabaglione might have tasted like or maybe Lemon and Orange Ricotta Cheesecake or Panforte.

Washing it all down was the best coffee this side of Sicily.

By all means go…and if you get there early you can check out the candy & tea store next door.

First off, one star and a hairy eyeball to TripAdvisor for NOT putting the city name in for LIFeSTYLE's address. It's Bedford, but the way it is now a search for "Bedford" restaurants omits LIFeSTYLE entirely. That said, perhaps this is for the better, as the demand for seats is already so intense that you usually have to book weeks in advance.

This place is a vendor of Italian food products and related items by day. But come Saturdays at 7:30 PM, it morphs into Bedford's most enjoyable destination. The pleasant young chef-owner, Stefano Ferrari, turns out a you-get-what-I serve dinner from his Milan tradition, and it gets the nod for food quality alone. It's $50 per, including tax, tip, and Pellegrino and still bottled water.

But you can eat well in any number of cities. What sets LIFeSTYLE apart is that it is a communal feast of something like two dozen guests that are served along one long table and treated like family at a festino in the old country. You bring your own wine (no more than one bottle per person, they warn!), and within half an hour a roomful of strangers has been converted into an encore of Babette's Feast. For a couple of hours folks from different cultures and countries come together and blend into one jovial group, with even the shyest ending the evening with smiles, chatter and warm hugs.

Some other attendees when we were there were veterans of earlier Ferrari Feasts. They suggested that while they always go well, the night we were there the stars aligned perfectly. The food was exceptional, with attendees to match.

If you haven't yet seen Babette's Feast, download it before coming here to get a sense of what you're getting into. Stefano will call you a few days in advance to let you know the menu and offer you his advice on which (Italian) wine to bring.

Eating at Life Style is definit Really more of a dining experience rather than just going out to a resteraunt to eat. We went as part of a large group of friends, so it was just like a fun, loud, dinner party. The food was excellent...especially the orange pasta...wow! I really liked how the chef came out between courses to explain where the food came from and how he prepared it. Gave me a better appreciateion for what I was eating. The meal takes between 2 and 3 hours, which I didn't anticipate going in. I got a little up tight the first time I was there because it was taking sooo long between courses, but the second time I was there, I knew what to anticipate, so I relaxed and enjoyed the time with friends. It is a little pricy at 50.00 per person, but this does include all gratuity and you can bring your own wine/alchohol with no corking fees. The quality of the food is awesome though. This is not a place that I would recommend for a place to have a romantice dinner with intimate conversation as you're seated at a huge dinner table with other diners at elbow distance, but it is definitely a great dining experience and an authentic taste of Italy!

A friend and I staying at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort were walking through the town of Bedford when we saw the storefront of LiFeSYLE. We were lucky that there was a cancellation so that we could attend the Sat. night dinner here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere charming. The website says it is prix fixe and includes gratuity. Call ahead if you are going to be in the area. During the day it is a retail store with delicious olive oil and imports for sale.

In the small town of Bedford, PA is a retail Italian shop that closes up in the evening only to re-open as a family style seating restaurant. You are served a (5) course meal in the center of the retail shop for a fixed price of $50 per person, which includes service. LIFeStyle is BYOB and they do NOT charge a corkage fee. Reservations are highly recommended, as the dining table seats around (12) people. The owner is the chef from northern Italy, who introduces himself and announces the courses before they are served. There is no menu, as the chef decides what he will prepare day's before. When your reservation is confirmed, he will personally call you and let you know the main entree that will be served and make a wine recommendation. My husband and I enjoyed our meal and the people we met made it very enjoyable as well. We would recommend trying out this place and we hope to come again next time we're at the Omni Bedford Springs.
