Description: We are professional farmers planting, growing, harvesting/raising real, fresh food from our organic farm three miles away from our freshtaurant. We work with many small farmers in Bedford County & Surrounding counties to bring the best each season has to offer. Our main purpose is to share the tasty foods of our region and to recognize our hard working farmers who produce on this precious land.

“Outstanding food, excellent service, great value.”
Reviewed 4 July 2012

I was surprised that this restaurant was not rated higher than it was. I had called one of the high rated restaurants and they were going to be closed for dinner. I asked for a recommendation and the chef/owner told me about Horn of Plenty. He said it was excellent. We started with a just baked sour dough bread with a fresh herb and olive oil dipping sauce Our appetizers were vegetable soup and a wonderfully fresh cucumber salad with dill. We had the skillet chicken pot pie filled with fresh vegetables. It melted in your mouth. Simple food, beautifully prepared. There were only 7 people here during our dinner. More people need to know about this place. 5 Star food affordable prices! BYOB

“fresh and healthy”
Reviewed 1 July 2012

We enjoyed our dining experience. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. We had local trout which was stuffed with sauted spinach and onions. Very moist and flavorful. It was accompanied by red potatoes and fresh green beans. We started with a salad of greens garnished with edible day lilies. With their BYOB policy we enjoyed a bottle of wine with the delicious meal. The restaurant is in a 1800's stone wood and house, wooden hand-crafted tables and old school desk chairs, original wooden floors. An open kitchen concept.

“Farm-to-table deliciousness”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

This is a neat little restaurant in Wolfsburg. It describes itself as "a farm-to-table restaurant emphasizing locally sourced and organically grown meat, dairy and produce." It's a refreshing change from standard restaurants, and a great addition to Bedford County. Give it a try--I was pleasantly surprised.

Pros: tasty!, great decor, nice atmosphere, unique foods, good parking, vegetarian options, friendly staff
Cons: a little out of the way, sometimes takes time to get your order, if you're not into organic/raw stuff--this may not be for you! Raw milk products are everywhere, which is a con for me.

Tips: Check their website for menus--they can change daily! (http://www.myhornoplenty.com)
Wednesdays are half-chicken "hump days", so no wood-fired pizza.
It's "bring your own bottle".
Don't give up while trying to find it. It's hidden in a residential neighborhood right behind the gas station. Look for a multi-story wood building.
