“Great Resort but Keep your Car”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2012

Love this huge resort in mid state Pa. Very pricey but great service except for the car vallet program that was very slow if you wanted to leave the campus.

Room Tip: no comment. First trip and room was great!

We go every year to celebrate our niece's birthday, and to catch up with each other..... the room was clean, though dusty on the spool beds and tables; the bathroom was very clean and spotless. There were three of us, and we called for additional bath linens which were brought up very promptly.

The Spa was exceptional-- the two massage therapists, Summer and Cecilia were exceptional; a pedicure was very nice. Our niece did get lost on the hiking trails, but found her way back without too much difficulty! We did enjoy the indoor pool, the horseshoe pit, the swing and just relaxing throughout the resort. We highly recommend the restaurant 1789--the steaks were exceptional.... the food at the Tavern had some high and low spots, but the wait staff made the meal nice. We did not eat at the Crystal room this time, but have enjoyed their brunches in the past. We have enjoyed the afternoon tea in the past, especially the little treats; this time, we were offered only tea and whole fruit, so we did miss our sweets!

Would definitely recommend this hotel for a first-rate relaxing time!

Room Tip: Front facing rooms have great view, but it can be loud (cars, fire pit, restaurant entrance) Rear f...

To celebrate my husband's birthday, we escaped to the recently redone Bedford Springs. We'd heard great things from friends who have been there and we weren't disappointed. It truly is a luxury hotel. From the antique furnishings to the actual history of the hotel, everything was authentic. We were welcomed by a friendly doorman and the food in the Frontier Tavern and Crystal Dining Room was very good. Our room was quite large and the bathroom was essentially spa-like. We had a first floor room that opened onto its famous porch. We were extremely comfortable and liked the fact that we were slightly out of town but there was a lot to do. We also visited the spa for couples massages and my husband did the Bedford Baths Ritual four times...he loved it that much. The spa is one of the nicest I've ever encountered, including the one at the Hotel Hershey. The only negative, aside from the fact that the gift shop didn't sell any pens, was that the hair dryers I used (in both the spa and in our guest room) only were set to the low settings. Not sure if this was to prevent thefts or what...but next time, I'll bring my own. Also, because this is a luxury hotel, expect things to be pricey.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room to open out onto the famous porches.

We are thrilled that you and your husband enjoyed a birthday getaway to The Omni Bedford Springs. The Bedford Baths are a truly relaxing experience and we are glad that your husband was able to indulge. We do apologize if the hairdryers weren't to your liking and will let our gift shop know that they should consider ordering to pens to sell. Thank you for allowing us to read about your stay and we hope you will consider us for another getaway soon.

We went fall, 2011 and were lucky to score a great deal on our room. This very large property did not disappoint. We had a bit of trouble with cleanliness of the room which was quickly resolved. We even got fees credited for our inconvenience. There is an Olympic size pool that was great, but could have been repainted. The couples message and spa were great. There is a award winning golf course. There are two nice restaurants and a pub bar and restaurant. At night you could buy supplies for cooking s'mores on the bonfire that was lit all three nights that we were there. The staff were very friendly. I broke a few toes before I left for vacaton and they supplied a brand new wheelchair upon arrival. There is valet parking. Lots of walking as this resort is very large. It is tastefully decored throughout. We were on a package that included breakfast. Good thing, because it was pricey if paid for separately. We got a really good package deal through Travelzoo. My very favorite thing was complimentary high tea in the afternoon. Sandwiches galore and fancy desserts and great tea. No room for dinner till later in the evening. Wonderful luxury that is not to be missed. There were also bowls of fruit and lemon water in the lobby during the day. The outside pool was not open when we were there. There are multiple hiking trails and a cute little town to explore. The hotel has a nice array of shops. The rooms were well appointed with nice annenities. Over all I would recommend this terrific hotel that strives to please.

Room Tip: We stayed in the spa wing. There were rocking chairs on the porches with great views of the sunset a...

Stayed here with a Groupon deal and was upgraded to a room with a view of the resort. The room was really nice and my wife loved the bathroom. We might even remodel our master bathroom at our house to match this one. It was very clean, except for the lipstick stained water glass in our room- It was replaced the following day. If you're not a member of Omni Select Guest program, join it before your stay. You get free WI-fi and free beverage service in the morning.

What we liked:

*The food and service at their three restaurants were pretty good. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Crystal dining room and the food at the Tavern.
*Enjoyed the cooking class. The executive chef was there and it was pretty fun. The tomato bisque soup was the highlight.
*Indoor pool was fantastic. It was huge and warm!
*The hiking trails are right outside the resort. It does get a little steep, but worth it. Have to burn off the calories somehow!
*My wife really enjoyed the spa.
*Next time, I have to bring my golf clubs! Golf course looked amazing.
*Service at the hotel - everyone was so friendly.

What we didn't like:
* Our room was facing the fire pit area. Your room will smell like firewood when they light it up and it gets really loud until midnight. So if you are looking to sleep early, request a room away from it. Fortunately, we are night owls.

We are glad you had a relaxing weekend at The Omni Bedford Springs Resort and we enjoyed reading what made your weekend special. It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you back so you can take advantage of the Old Course and we would be happy to make sure that you are in a room that is away from the fire pit. Thank you for your review and we look forward to your return!

My wife and I just returned from a two night stay at the Omni Bedford Springs. Our entire experience was absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the Evitt House in a king deluxe room. The room was very nicely decorated, bed was pretty comfortable and we had a "resort view" from our balcony that overlooks the front of the property. The bathroom was marble tiled and was very clean. The maid staff refreshed our room and provided us with clean towels daily. The resort staff was very courteous and helpful and handled our requests in a timely manner. Valet parking staff were great and the doorman, Scott, was exceptional. We had a positive experience with all resort staff. We ate at the Crystal Room and Frontier Tavern. We had the buffet at the Crystal Room which had prime rib, shrimp cocktail, trout, lamb, mediterranean chicken dish and salad bar and fantastic desserts. At the Frontier Tavern, we had a cheeseburger, chili, pub fries and fish and chips. Don't order the five onion soup, as it is nothing we would have expected. My wife sent it back. Portions were sufficient and prices were slightly above what you would pay at an Applebee's. My wife had a wonderful experience at the spa. She got a 50 minute massage and had nothing but good things to say. We did not schedule her spa appointment earlier and fortunately they were able to see her on day 2 of our stay. I would recommend that you make spa reservations well in advance as they do fill up quickly.
The only negative things we can say is that there was a stink bug on our window curtain the evening we arrived which I put in tissue and flushed down the toilet. Our room refrigerator was not working and we called to notify the front desk and they offered to replace it, but we opted not to because we didn't want to be disturbed.
Our stay was a well needed two days of relaxation at a beautiful resort that really knows how to treat their guests. We will definitely be returning to this place. I would highly recommend this place for a couple day getaway. Two thumbs up!!

Room Tip: Choose "resort view" room.

After a very disappointing experience at Bedford's Eternal Springs Spa, i was contacted by a spa representative and offered a chance for another try. I waited a few months to avoid holidays or events that might cause the spa to be busy and also to go with an open mind. I finally follwed up on their offer in April 2012 and receieved the service and courtesy that i expected the first time around. My massage was excellent! The first time around, the bed and room were freezing. This time everything was a great temperature for realxing. The relaxation/quiet areas are still small and limited, but on this Sunday in particular, the spa was not overly busy. There was time and space to enjoy myself. Since it's local i would probably consider coming back, sparingly of course as it is pricey.
