We just returned from a great weekend from this amazing place! I can't say enough good things about it or the people who run it. Our friends, my husband, and I rented all the rooms and ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast there, and all 3 were amazing. Our waitress for dinner was Missy, and she did an outstanding job. She brought my husband a free dessert because it was his birthday! Our other 2 waitresses were great as well. Unfortunately, I don't remember their names. The 2 managers, one guy, one lady, we had the pleasure of meeting...super awesome!!! The rooms were clean as clean can be and the beds were comfy! It was a great weekend! We were there as a paranormal team/awesome group of friends and couldn't have been treated better!

And it probably still captures the spirit of 76.

Have been coming to the Jean for many years. Takes you back in time like Williamsburg does. Upstairs so-so; hit the tavern below for stone walls, wood beams and the smell of the great fireplace usually warming the intimate setting.

Food is always solid. And focused on the traditional. You've had somewhat better, but i doubt this far from a big city.

It's sense of isolation, especially coming down from the mountains to the west makes it seem as inviting now as it must have looked to weary travelers on horseback.

Careful not to miss the turnpike exit. It's a long way back (I know because I have backtracked the miles to get back in time at the Jean).

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here with my young children. Service was very good and very friendly. Great food and glad they take reservations.

An added bonus is the history associated with this restaurant. The atmosphere only enhances the dinner.

This is a great place to get away. The rooms well decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The free breakfast is the best I've ever had in any B&B or restaurant. One of the highlights here is Janet. She is the housekeeper and not only does an excellent job at keeping the rooms clean, but is the nicest person you'd want to meet. The restaurant is highly recommended. Meals are very good and the atmosphere warm and cozy. Also, visit the adorable gift shop. Great finds and a pretty building.
