This was a delightful place to stay. We had a king room in the new wing which features very large windows looking out on fields and the countryside. The room is very well-furnished and appointed. The bathroom is a showplace with claw-foot tub, walk-in shower, double sinks, etc. Sofa and recliner - wet bar. Very comfortable and spacious. Well-located to many places of interest in the Amish community. A great place to relax! Very helpful staff. There is a restaurant on site and a tour operator who has a variety of options that were very good.

Super breakfast - buffet with made to order eggs, omelets and waffles. We highly recommend it. We originally planned to stay two nights, but added another night because we enjoyed it so much.

Room Tip: If you aren't travelling with kids - pay a little more for the adults only wing.

Thanks for your review! What better compliment is there for a hotelier than a guest who extends their stay because they love the hotel so much, and just can't bear to leave? :-) We look forward to your next stay!

Incredibly disheartening that I have to write this negative review since I have been coming to Lancaster for over 35 years and staying at the Amish View Inn 4-5 times a year for the past 5 years.

A few days ago, before we arrived, we received a call that the room we requested was not available as there was a mix-up but another one is available that has the same exact layout. We said no worries as we understand these things happen and that the availability of certain rooms is subject to change.

However, when we entered our room (which should have been with a fireplace, full kitchen and jacuzzi), we were extremely dissatisfied. The room was half the size as the one we wanted and did not even have a full kitchen or table to eat on. Since we are traveling with a 7 month old and a 4 year old, we absolutely require those. My 4 year old was eating macaroni and cheese on the floor! There wasn't even any utensils in the room which we know are in the one bedroom suites with full kitchens (we had to go to the front desk).

How do you justify charging the same price for a room that is half the size and without the amenities that we needed and said we would get, in the one we booked? Very poor business practice and probably false advertisement.

We practically begged for a room with a full kitchen (we don't need the jacuzzi or fireplace) and was told we can have one tonight but have to move back to our original room tomorrow night. That's a nice gesture but not an easy task to do with two kids. We were told that there are only two rooms of the type we booked. When asked if I can just have the other one, we were told that the other people (who haven't checked in yet and we booked months ago) also requested a room with a fireplace, kitchen, and a jacuzzi. So how come we didn't get it? Makes me wonder who they are.

Ben, who probably should be running the place, tried his absolutely best to accommodate us. He gave us dinner vouchers, spoke to his manager about even getting us a better rate, and was extremely apologetic. You might want to consider promoting him.

We were actually a bit unhappy the last time we came in April as we felt the hotel lost its coziness by making the lobby one big cafeteria but since we are loyal customers, we came back.

We won't make that mistake again. If a hotel cannot find accommodations for a couple with two small children when there is a big vacancy sign outside, then I'll take my family elsewhere next time.

Funny thing is that I'm actually writing this while still at the hotel on my vacation, but that's how angry I am.

Thank you for sharing your comments. Your frustration is completely understandable, and I'm so sorry that we have let you down on this stay. Unfortunately, we only have 6 rooms in the hotel that have full kitchens, and I'm terribly sorry that we gave you the impression that the room you had been re-assigned to had one. That is obviously not the case, and is clearly an important and necessary amenity for you and your family. I spoke with our Guest Services Supervisor earlier today, and we will reinforce with our staff the importance of communicating the specifics of every room type, and ensuring that our guests are fully informed prior to arrival. I'm glad to hear that an adjustment to your room rate was made, and that our staff provided you complimentary dinner vouchers, but I understand that this does not make up for your disappointment and frustration. Again, I'm so sorry to have let you down after all these years of hosting you and your family in Lancaster County. I do hope that you will consider giving us another chance.

This was our 5th stay at this property. This was the 1st stay in the new King Grand rooms, and we were very pleased. The rooms are well decorated and furnished, with a luxury bathroom. The farm view from the 10 foot window was truly beautiful. I got up early to watch the sunrise and to my surprise, there were 2 hot air balloons drifting over the farm country. The breakfast is always delicious, and well prepared.

Room Tip: We had a 5th floor view, it was wonderful

We wanted to immerse ourselves in Amish country and could not have picked a better place to stay.

AmishView Inn & Suites is an ideal place for a family visit in Lancaster County. Very pleasant hotel staff. Large and clean room, good-sized bathroom. Quiet. Plentiful food for breakfast. Coffee all day up till late at night.

It is also right next to where one can book tours within the Amish countryside, affording one the great opportunity to understand and appreciate the Amish culture and way of life.

Highly recommended!

What a beautiful place to stay and relax!! Upon our arrival we were greeted by Ben who could not have been more kind and accommodating. He gave us a suite which overlooked the farms-it was huge, spotless and gorgeous! The room was more than spacious for the 4 of us traveling. It had a fireplace, king bed and a hide-away bed, mini kitchen with a microwave, refridge and sink. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well each night. We had breakfast each morning and it was the very best out of all the places that we stay at during this vacation. They had a chef on staff each morning making whatever breakfast omelet, eggs, hot cakes or waffle that you desired. They also had all the other breakfast foods out as well and many hot items on the breakfast bar. The breakfast room was so large, it never felt crowded, although there were a lot of people eating. The pool area was as spotless as the rest of the facility. They also have a laundry room with up to date appliances and a game room for the kids. The whole place is gorgeous, clean, large, excellent staff and for the price with all the amenities, you cannot beat it. Loved this place and will certainly be back!

Room Tip: A must stay if you travel through the Amish countryside...

Very clean rooms with all the ammenties...plus a claw footed tub for soaking. Will definelty return! Wonderful hotel staff as well. Plain and Fancy Resturant on property to, as well a gift shop.

Room Tip: Choose the new king rooms if traveling without kids. I'd say second or third floor.

Thank you for sharing your comments! Our new Grand King room really is special, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it on your recent visit. The farmland view from those 10ft. wide windows is certainly breathtaking, whether you are on the 1st or 5th floor! Perhaps you will have to return and have a stay on each floor until you decide which view is best :-)
