My husband and I regularly visit this area for business and pleasure. We have stayed other places, but the Amish VIew Inn is our favorite. This trip was just a quick birthday getaway. We are always pleased with our stay. We were dissappointed this time in that the young lady who has always served breakfast wasn't there. There was another lady who, bless her heart, seemed to be having difficulty keeping up with the orders - although she was trying. Other than a little bit of a noisy neighbor one night, our stay was once again excellent. If you stay, make sure you ask for a room which faces the farm behind the inn.

We just got back from our stay at the Amish View Inn and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it! It was fabulous. We arrived early (12:00), but were told our room was available. The front desk staff is very courteous and helpful. Using the advice of a previous reviewer, I asked for an upgrade. Well, lucky us, we received a free upgrade to a Whirlpool Studio Suite.

Our room was the first one past the elevator, but we never heard any noise from it. The room looks just like the one on the website. Huge king size bed overlooking the beautiful view of the farm, a large desk and coffee table, an extra sink outside the bathroom and an armoire housing the tv and dvd player. There were only the 2 of us, but the room was definitely spacious enough to house a family of 4-5 comfortably. And of course the whirlpool tub was fantastic and large enough for two.

The only annoyance is that it wasn't mentioned on the website that the on site restaurant and stores were closed due to it being off season. But a lot of establishments in the area were closed.

Breakfast was as good as previously reviewed. Hot, plentiful, and the staff was very friendly. They had everything you would order off a menu at a restaurant, included at no extra cost! The dining room has plenty of tables, in addition to couches and chairs around the fireplace.

If you're looking for entertainment, I recommend the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater about 20 minutes away.

My first experience here was scrapbooking for the weekend and then I just had to go back with my husband and friends. It is absolutely wonderful here. Clean, friendly, delicious breakfast(encluded) each morning and lots to do in the area. I can't wait to go back again. The jacuzzi and pool is a great treat each time also.
Thank you.

This was our fourth visit to Amish View Inn and Suites and it is always a pleasure to return there. With excellent rooms, mini kitchen (microwave, fridge, sink, coffee maker), great plentiful breakfasts and fantastic views over Amish farmland it is hard to beat. Great swimming pool, spa pool and also good laundry facilities which meant we came home with no dirty laundry! ($1 per load and it only takes 25 minutes - you can swim while it washes. Tumble dryer also $1)

On Plain and Fancy Farm, you also have an Amish film to watch and Amish house to look around which is very interesting as well as a gift shop and also a restaurant.

The shop has some really nice things to buy. The restaurant is clearly fashioned on the "plain" side of things and was, in reality, rather like a work canteen. The food was quite good although far from gourmet and no atmosphere - the metal trolley used for clearing tables was reminiscent of a hospital ward. However, the Shoofly Pie is a must ( you can buy it in the shop if you don't want to eat in the restaurant). I wouldn't particularly recommend the restaurant, although it is one of those try it once experiences and is better than burgers, anyday.

Also worth mentioning is the Aaron and Jessica Buggy rides which operate on the Plain and Fancy Farm. It was $30 for 3 of us to take a 30 minute ride to an "Amish" farm where we were greeted by an Amish child of about 5 years old who had a basket of cookies and pretzels and promptly told us they were $2 each. We viewed this as rather poor extortion as we felt we couldn't really refuse. It did spoil what was otherwise a pleasant ride and left a sad reflection on a people who I actually admire for wanting to steer clear of the 21st century.

As for the Amish View, I wholeheartedly recommend it and you will be well placed for the lovely folk art shops at Intercourse and the Outlet stores at Lancaster.

Stayed for two nights in a suite here in July. The room was as described, very comfortable with a large hot tub and great views across farmland. We really couldn't fault the accommodation, and we had dinner on one evening next door in Plain and Fancy, which was very good. On another night we did as one other reviewer did and dined at Millers Smorgasboard. This was not so good; the food was bland albeit plentiful. It was disgusting however to watch a lot of very obese people gorging themsleves on far too much food. Maybe we hit the place on a bad night, but the restaurant seemed to be full of people with disgusting eating habits.
To get back to the Amish View Inn though, it would have been perfect except for one thing. The breakfast was served on high quality but disposable plates and cutlery. A man was fully occupied with removing sackfuls of these items, what a waste! It all seemed so out of place with the nice environmnet just outside the window.
The hotel pool is small but never crowded. There is also a good laundry room there as well. All in all, a great place except for the wasteful practices of the breakfast operation. It would cost less to use normal plates and cutlery, so why don't they do it? It would stop me staying there again, unless I was assured that this had stopped.

This place was fantastic! It was so nice to stay in such a great place. This hotel had everything for our family. The pool was great. They had a laundry facility that we used. Only one washer and dryer, so we had to wait until the next morning to do laundry. It was clean, quiet and perfect for us! The breakfast was great too. Loved it!

We enjoyed the pool so much that it was too late to find someplace to eat that wasn't closed by 8pm, so that was our only disappointment. We would have loved to have an authentic Amish meal, but instead we were stuck with a chain restaurant that was open later.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this property. The front desk employees are very polite and helpful. We had a studio suite with a whirlpool. This is a wonderful room to stay in. We had a king size wrought iron bed. Bed was absolutely wonderful to sleep in. Also in our room we had a sleeper sofa, small kitchen area with microwave and refrigerator. Whirlpool/jacuzzi was very relaxing after a long day. Hotel supplies you with personal items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. from Bath and Body Works. Complimentary breakfast is made to order eggs and omletts, waffles, bacon and ham, fried potatoes, etc. Very nice breakfast included with room rate. Only bad thing of entire stay was the price of room. This place is very pricey (at least $200 a night) but it is a very nice, relaxing stay. Will not go there every time we need to have a hotel, but occasionally for a special occasion. Great place for anniversaries, wedding nights, or any other special occasion. Package plans available, so check them out.
