“Nice Historical Tavern”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We enjoyed our visit to Historical Boalsburg, PA. There is lots to see in the area. A stroll around this beautiful village is a must. This is the birthplace of Memorial Day.
The tavern offers a nice menu with reasonable prices considering the setting in this nicely preserved/restored stage coach stop established in 1819. They offer fine dining or sandwiches. They have a quaint bar with Happy Hour specials. They also have a nice street side patio for those who wish to dine outside.
The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean and inviting. We will return for sure.

“Great Restaurant”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Visited Sunday for lunch and sat on the outdoor patio. Service could have been more polished as we were brought 2 pepper shakers and no salt, with a few mistakes but wait staff blamed the mistakes on the previous night of debauchery. Sesame Tuna appetizer and salad was awesome followed by burgers which were very good, but quite greasy. Cole slaw and fries were excellent. $36 for two burgers and appetizers and ice teas was priced very fair. Will return.

“"Great Bar and Restaurant!"”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Boalsburg, the birthplace of Memorial Day, is a quaint town on the outskirts of State College, PA. Nestled in the very small town center is Duffy's. This is the quintessential local pub, attached to a nice restaurant. It's aged, weathered and has a colonial feel to it. Stone and wood walls, small bar (always with freshly popped popcorn!), and a few tables. It's quiet and nothing fancy, but really comfortable. The food is surprisingly good and diverse! One of their specialties, and a favorite is the "coffee rubbed" burger. Excellent! One day during the week, Wednesday's I believe is wing night. What a feast! Here's a tip - they do a Wasabi-Ranch flavor what is unbelievable!! And if you like good old fashioned bean soup (with ham!) - you'll be in heaven. Just about everything is great - nothing fancy - just consistently good. The beer's extra cold; the bourbon is steady; the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing, In the summer, grab a drink or a meal outside if the weather allows. Duffy's can be dangerous, though - because it's such a nice place, don't be surprised if you've been there for a lot longer than you thought! Can't wait to go back!

“Perfection in Boalsburg”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

Very quaint rustic style restaurant. There is bar type seating and then a dining room for fine dining. The hostess was jovial and kind and the parking was plenty, we got a spot directly in front of the restaurant. The reisling as the drink was delicous. I had the duck which was as succulent and tasty as meal as I have ever had. She had the Seafood Crepe which was absolutely perfect, tasty full of food but not messy. The potato and spinach on the side were almost too good to believe. Fabulous restuarant, quiet, romantic. Very polite service from our waiter who had maybe the best voice I have ever heard. Just a perfect restaurant. Again they have a bar side and a bigger menu if thats what you want. Loved it.
