“Excellent fresh food---makes you feel like you're in Greece!”
Reviewed 16 June 2013

Recently my husband and I went to Lourdas---in spite of less than stunning reviews. We found it to be excellent. We had a wonderful appetizer which came accompanied by warm pita bread. For lunch, we had the lamb, with baklava for dessert. We thought everything was excellent and will return when we're in the area.
It is cash only so be aware of this before going.
We loved the atmosphere---very clean, airy and bright. A taste of Greece right in Bryn Mawr.

“Good food, average staff friendliness”
Reviewed 9 June 2013 via mobile

We went for the food....which was great. Cute and cozy place, and a BYOB which makes it even better. Most of us took food home with us, so the portion sizes were large. Nice value. Not overpriced. The staff seemed a little less than interested in making your dining experience the best it could be. We felt a little alienated by the staff. However, they were efficient. A few more smiles would have made it all the better! Not sure if we would go back but if we are in the mood for some authentic Greek and our usual place isn't available....we may.

“Not So Good Greek Restaurant on the Main Line”
Reviewed 24 May 2013

This place used to be fun a few years ago, then something happened. It is a classic BYOB but in winter do not sit near the door or you'll freeze, that being said we loved coming here in the past. Now it's too noisy, staff are not helpful and you cannot hear yourself think with the din. I love fun places but this has gone downhill fast. The food obviously has too, we had different dishes the last time we came and everything was too dry or over-cooked, too much salt or too much oil. I (sadly) do not think we will be back anytime soon.

“Disappointed in food + CASH ONLY is SO annoying!”
Reviewed 22 January 2013

We read great reviews about Lourdas while looking for a new plave to get our Greek food fix. So we called to ask about takeout (didn't feel like dressing up to go out) and placed an expensive order of takout with Lourdas. They told us ahead it was cash only, annoying but fine. We showed up with our $40+ in cash for our relatively expensive 2-person takeout order. The waitstaff kind of made a point of showing us the sit-down diners were far more important than we were. (Hmm, why did they tell us takeout was fine in a friendly way over the phone?) For what we paid, I was expecting restaurant-quality takeout, not diner- or fast-food-quality takeout. The food was mostly bland and dry (like it had been under a heat lamp or in an oven too long), except the Moussaka was oddly spicy and didn't taste like the expected flavor of Moussaka. Since Moussaka was my whole reason for wanting Greek food it was a major letdown. We haven't returned and I don't expect to in the future. Minella's Diner, two towns farther down 30, has better Greek food by far (and they take credit cards).

“Overpriced and Overrated”
Reviewed 12 November 2012

Went to Lourdas BOB with my wife and another couple the evening of November 11, 2012 and were quite disappointed. Although the soups were good, the spanakopita was just so-so. I had the grilled Octopi appetizer, the most expensive appetizer ($15++) and found that it was 90% spring mix salad (not Greek salad) and barely 10 % tasteless octopus. Fish tasted as if it was boiled not grilled. Salad dressing was so acidic I was wondering if it was battery acid. Mentioned it to the waiter and he apologized and then proceeded to forget about it. (Tipped him generously anyway since it was not his fault.)
