“Don't go later in the day, or expect fudge”

My daughter and I went about 4:00 in the afternoon, not too late considering they close at 6:00. The front window advertises wedding cakes, pastries, and fudge dog treats (note the lack of comma). We were in the mood for fudge, and thought this would be a nice treat. Upon going in and looking around, many shelves were empty, no fudge in sight. When I asked the staff what fudge options they had, the response I got was 'we have fudgy brownies'. I pointed to the window noting the fudge, and was told they don't make any.

My daughter settled on a chocolate cupcake with coconut frosting. She said it was just 'ok'. I read items on their menu, but after asking for 3 different items and being told they were out, I went without.

May you have better luck - and may the owner take Fudge off the front window!

I stopped in here recently to pick up a dessert. There was a lovely selection of cakes, brownies and pastries. I went with a slice of the chocolate truffle cake. One piece is definitely meant to be shared. It was rich and decadent and delicious. There were alternating layers of chocolate cake with dense chocolate-decadence-like filling, topped with chocolate buttercream frosting covered with a layer of chocolate ganache and a chocolate truffle. Clearly, having Mr. Dingeldein take over as master pastry chef is a good thing. This place could become a great destination if they hired a barista.

Everything is very yummy here and priced right. Fresher and cheaper than panara's sweets. And it's great to support a local owner. Love the build your own ice cream cookie sandwiches. Pick your favorite Hershey's ice cream and pick 2 fresh baked cookies from the case. It is as big as the plate, very shareable ;)

For the past 2 years my family purchased Birthday cakes here, they are totally delicious. The pink champagne is AMAZING. They are beautifully decorated too. However they are really expensive even for just a birthday party too feed 8-10 it's not a good value. I would recommend it but only if you prefer taste over value.

Carlisle was begging for a bakery, Helena's has the great bread form Metropolitan Bakery in Philadelphia, but only on a Saturday morning. The staff are very friendly but the lay out makes for poor service as the two counters are divided down the middle. There is no real artisan bread. No bagel choices, no real hard crusty french bread, poor selection of bread and rolls. I could not get a simple roll for a hamburger at 1 pm. The restaurant side seems to be undeveloped. I feel the owners may be losing interest and suggest they go visit the Gettysburg Bakery / Pamona's in Biglerville, there is the model for success for you to follow.
