The Fern Hall Inn is a must for anyone intersted in staying at a gorgeous historically significant bed and breakfast with an overly accomodating staff, five star food, and reasonable prices. Truley a diamond in the rough. I highly suggest Micheal's seafood chowder and Mary's pancakes (seriously they should be patented). Thanks to everyone for another great weekend and see you soon.

We've stayed a few times now and feels like another home. Really lovely people and always an eclectic mix of people to meet. New restaurant is fantastic. Like taking a bit of New York with you. Always plenty to do or nothing if that's what you need. I really love the Scottish Glen Golf Course they have. Turns into a great snow shoe course in winter. The boat house on the lake my girls favorite spot in any season. Always look forward to going back.

We had a warm and wonderful visit at Fern Hall Inn. All of the staff were very helpful and aimed to please. Our party felt very relaxed, as though we were part of the home and one big family. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere welcoming ( and because we enjoy history, interesting). The stuffed shrimp was truely the BEST I'd ever had, the bar was fun and the accomodations as comfy as they are beautiful. Although I am not a golfer, we enjoyed the sport both on the driving range and on the course.
A great quiet getaway with spectacular views.

When staying at inns, the level of hospitality can make all the difference. Fern Hall offers a wonderful natural setting, inspired cuisine, large and comfortable guest rooms, cozy places to retreat and relax. But what sets it apart is the warmth and generosity of the innkeepers. Sam, Ed and their staff invite you to use the inn as though it were your own home, to linger over breakfast,on the patio, in the library, by the fire, over dinner. Evenings the inn transforms into a lively gathering place for locals and travelers. There is a sense of luxury and ease that slowed down my heartrate with each passing hour. Four days have passed since we returned home and I am still floating.

On a recent fall foliage road trip, I found the perfect spot at Fern Hall to enjoy autumn, friends and food. The owners, Sam and Ed, were most gracious and made me feel as though welcomed into their own home. Dinner was exquisite, and the dining room, with its magnificent, huge, stone fireplace, offered gentle warmth to the cold, fall night. Locals mingled with guests in the small but cozy lounge, and instant friendships were sparked in the convivial atmosphere. My fave? Soaking in the chin-high old tub in spa-blue water, and then wrapping myself in the fluffy white robe. But it was Fern Hall that wrapped itself around me. Can't wait for next visit!

This was my private note to the Inn I thought I would share:
Dear Ed, Sam and the staff,

Thank you all so much for such a wonderful weekend. I look forward to it so much all year and it never disappoints. I can’t wait till next year; but hopefully will plan a trip there this year over the winter and check out the Inn during another season.
Again, thank you for all your warmth and hospitality.

The Inn is the perfect Bed and Breakfast. Warm, friendly, clean. The lake is breathtaking and the food and ambiance are terrific. Great walk around the lake and the golf is amazing. Nine holes that are just beautiful. Can't beat it!!!!

My wife and I recently stayed at Fern Hall again and were pleased and delighted with the accomodations which are period 1920-30s and authentic. We prefer this type of 'classic' accomodation which tends to be one of a kind to the standard roadside McRoom with no personality or interest. Obviously those who require sterile enviornemnts will not appreciate the one-of-a-kind place that is Fern Hall. We love the rooms, the classic elegance, the views, the lakehouse, the pub .....etc. and the service and attention to detail could not be better. Well be back.
