The highlight of our meal was the sticky toffee pudding, which is the secret recipe from Alan, the general manager (who is a really nice guy). Alan suggested the Innis and Gunn aged oak beer with the pudding and it was a 'home run'.

Strongly suggest you put it on your 'to go' list !

If you are touristing in the Brandywine Valley, The Whip is at least twenty minutes away from wherever you're likely to be staying. If you live here, you probably know about it already. Parking looks dire, but it's accepted form to park behind someone and move your car when they're ready to leave. The place is much bigger than it looks, with a large outdoor seating area. We waited 15 minutes in a comfortable seating area with a beer in hand for an outdoor table. They have a great selection of beers in bottles and on tap. The food was quite good and reasonable by big-city standards.

Business brought me to the Coatesville area and I had to visit the Whip Tavern having eaten there before - I was not disappointed - had the English Onion Soup, the Fish n Chips, Guinness (can't eat pub food without a beer), and took the Sticky Pudding with me to eat later - and, yes, while the place was crowded and noisy, it is after all a pub - prices were a little higher than I remember but the food was as I remembered it - worth the stop - I was there at lunch time but was seated right away - hope to get back soon

A nice place for brunch with family but beware there will be a wait. Food choices are limited but are delicious and very friendly staff.

Had our first dinner at Whip Tavern last Thursday evening. Great pub environment in rural Chester County. The menu has a nice selection of English pub food, beer, and other selection. My fish and chips were very nice and my wife's Luxury Pie was also excellent. Surround the meal with some Welsh Rarebit and desert - a very nice evening!
